I have a friend who is trying to sell me on this. Any feedback you can share would be great!

I have a coworker that handed this stuff to my fiance and I and we just never touched it after. Literally sitting on the counter for weeks. I wanted to tell her that her counting calories is what works, but figured she'd get upset that I didn't contribute anything to an easy out instead...
So in short, no. It's just something else to take your money.0 -
So you never tried it? Just left it on the countertop?0

If there were a topical medication that actually did all the things that Thrive claims with no side effects, a pharmaceutical company would have done the research to support it, patented it, and made more money than Pfizer did with Viagra.
The reason Thrive (and all supplements) can make crazy claims about what they do is because they aren't regulated. That's why they always include that "These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA and this product is not intended to treat or cure any disease" disclaimer- they can (and do) say literally whatever they want with no proof whatsoever, because it's a "nutritional supplement" and the standard of proof is basically just "uh, yeah, it totally fixes everything wrong with you, but don't forget the small print about me not promising that it will *actually* fix anything at all."0 -
If things like this worked we wouldn't be fat.0
-
I've never tried it. I know several people who sell it and they are all still fat. I'll keep my money and stick to counting calories. IMO it's just a scam to make money.0

Thrive was tried by a bunch of my coworkers. None of them are on it anymore, and one had very violent and embarrassing reactions at work.0

I use thrive but only the vitamins. It just so happens that their vitamins help me feel more energized. I am also watching what I eat mostly too. I am down 12 lbs since I started taking them a month ago. I feel awesome.0

I posted about this same topic recently asking for insight from people who have tried it and all I got were very judgemental opinions from people who haven't tried it. I have tried it for the last 2 weeks now. I definitely feel more energized and have less joint pain (I had a lot of foot and knee pain). I also have lost 6 pounds over the last 2 weeks and I really haven't done anything different. Even so with the results I've had I'm not sure I will order the stuff again because it is so expensive and I'm not 100% convinced that I couldn't just go out and buy some caffeine pills and some glucosamine and chondroitin for much cheaper and get the same exact results.0

I tried it for 5 days. I didn't notice any difference. I didn't care for the vanilla protein; I thought it tasted chalky. The chocolate was ok.0

I will chime in since I've been a calorie counter since March 2014. I take Thrive...but Thrive isn't a weight loss product, so it's a shame that that is the way that it's marketed. It's a nutrition supplement: AKA vitamins/minerals. For me, the benefits that I get from taking it: more motivation to hit the gym, better sleep, and joint relief in my hips. I had my son when I was 16 and have been plagued by hip discomfort for years: simply being free to MOVE has allowed me to kick my workouts up a notch and increase my success rate in the gym and on the scale. I STILL COUNT CALORIES = Without a deficit YOU. WILL. NOT. LOSE. For me, being able to move more has helped increase that deficit.2

it says right on their page weight management,it says lose weight, tone up and get back into shape(which cannot be done without a deficit and exercise(to "tone" and get back into shape).so if its not a weight loss drug then it should not be marketed as such.not to mention the vitamins have forskolin and garcinia in it. those havent been proven to do anything.
The womens vitamins are missing the L arginine but the womens formula has Irvingia gabonensis (Pure African Mango Seed Extract again purported to help weight loss)) and the mens formula have the L arginine. They also have patches (like a nicotine patch type things, which the ingredients for that is more gimmicky weight loss ingredients that arent proven to work).Their ingredients dont say how much of each supplement is in their product either. so basically their products are just full of WOO,Id say its a type of placebo, and expensive one at that

She was looking for feedback on the product itself, which is what I gave. You missed the point of my post: "that it's a shame that that's the way that it's marketed." "I STILL COUNT CALORIES = Without a deficit YOU. WILL. NOT. LOSE."

no,I didnt miss the point of your post. we all know (or at least most of us do) that without a deficit you wont lose weight. I gave feedback of the product as well. (some of the ingredients that are proven to not work, and so on. you said it was a nutritional supplement. I dont see how that is possible when a lot of the ingredients have no bearing on nutrition and focus on supposed weight loss that again will not happen. There are products out there that are nutritional supplements ,they are a lot better and a lot cheaper than this product and doesnt include these fake weight loss ingredients.
when a nutrition supplements doesnt give you the percentages or number amount of what is in their product(aka proprietary blend), then you have NO idea how much of what is put into these products. the theobromine/guarana in the vitamins is a stimulant(and possibly the green tea extract and a few others),so thats where you got the energy from. synephrine another ingredient in the vitamin,is similar to ephedrine.so how is this a nutritional supplement when it includes these ingredients, which can be dangerous or even deadly to those with health issues and those who take certain meds? to me thats not what I want in a product touted to be a nutritional supplement. But hey to each their own. if you want to still take it thats up to you.0 -
I've been Thriving for 3 weeks. I am down 6lbs.
That being said, in my opinion, Thrive has been working for me in a few ways.
1. Appetite control. I find myself snacking way less often than before because I feel full, even when I haven't eaten in a while. My lunch time at work is pretty early in the day (1030am) and even when I get home around 430 or 5pm, I don't go straight for the snack cabinet.
2. I have more energy. That 2:00 feeling is almost completely gone. There has been a day or two when I still took a nap when I got home, but I used to do that everyday.
3. I sleep like a baby! I guess it's because I haven't been taking my afternoon naps. I have no trouble falling asleep anymore. They also offer a product called Rest, which friends of mine with trouble sleeping swear by. This isn't something that I feel like I need though.
4. I'm more focused at work and when I work on projects of my own. Instead of jumping from project to project, I have been more able to focus on one thing at a time.
My boyfriend started using Thrive when I did, and he loves it too.
I'd say, try it and see if it's for you. It's simple to use. Take your Capsules first thing in the morning, 20 min later drink your shake mix, and don't forget your DFT foam. They come in cool designs. My friends and I trade them, so we're not stuck with the same designs all month.
A tip for the "chalkiness" of the shake mix: if you have a blender or a smoothie maker, use that. I have an Oster single serve smoothie maker and it mixes everything in well enough that you can't even tell it's in there. I've been using Almond Milk because milk makes my tummy hurt and feel bloated, a banana, and a few strawberries, with some ice and the Vanilla Mix. It's delicious. A friend of mine traded with me and gave me a couple of chocolate shake mixes. I mixed it up with some Dark Chocolate Almond Milk and that was also very yummy. I replace my usual granola bar breakfast with this shake mix and I'm good to go.
The biggest things to realize are that it does take some commitment to stick with it and use the products to see and feel any differences. And also, it's not some kind of miracle system that will make you lose 50 lbs in a month. It provides you with the vitamins, nutrients and amino acids that benefit your body. You still have to do the work to see the results, weightloss-wise.0 -
Hmm. After my coworker spent most of the morning in the bathroom and then had to go home and change, I personally would not suggest to anyone to stick with it just to see if it's good for them. Anecdotes aren't data but that was a very impressionable day.0

It effects people differently. Best to check the ingredients and make sure there are no allergies to the ingredients. Also, checking with a doctor is a good thing. I know that some of their products do contain milk, and a couple contain shellfish. That could greatly impact reactions. I haven't had any embarrassing issues while using it. It's actually made me a little more regular, but no urgency to go. That's just my experience though.0 -
My husband and I are currently using a free, 3-day sample that we were given. We have not noticed anything different, good or bad. Its pretty pricey so I don't think I'm going to spend the money to order any more. From what I've read, its just basically vitamins and caffeine. I don't need the caffeine and I can find less expensive vitamins.0
-
id avoid it. lots of stimulants(mainly many types of caffeine derivatives) in their products, you can take a multivitamin, probiotics and get your caffeine on your own cheaper. and the white willow bark in the vitamins are just similar to aspirin.they also try to get you to buy the other products to go with the vitamins or whatever you buy from them. I also have heard from many people that its hard as heck to cancel orders, and you only get a refund if the product was never used.its another MLM "business"

I have used it. I felt a differance. It's just expensive

I tried it over a year ago... I got a week sample pack from a friend who was using it and selling it. I started it on a Friday and end up going out of town with work for 5 days on Monday after I started it.. by Friday(day 8) I was out of the products and I was so sick from what I believe was my body detoxing. I will never use the product again. Plus I didn't feel any changes at all.. I was still hungry and didn't really have extra energy..

I had a friend that started using it and I looked it up to see what it does - and I can't figure out what it is supposed to do for you - very vague:
The THRIVE Experience is an 8-week premium lifestyle plan to help individuals experience and reach peak physical & mental levels. You're going to live, look, and feel Ultra Premium like never before! Results from the THRIVE Experience are high impact, and can differ slightly from person to person, depending on your 8-week goal, and which areas of your lifestyle need the most help. I thought I would weigh in again on this topic now that I've been using the product for a few weeks. I have steadily been losing weight (about a lb every 3 days), but that is of course attributed to CICO. So, I cancelled my order initially because for the first 2 weeks or so I didn't really notice that the product was doing anything for me besides helping me skip my multiple cups of coffee throughout the day. However, now that I look back I definitely have more energy, I'm making it to the gym more, and I am not having any difficulty eating moderate portions, which is a big deal for me. So I have actually ordered the product again. I figure I will do the full 8 week experience. I think it is a product that helps you over time and you don't even realize it while it's happening until you look back at the changes that have happened. So unless you are just looking for a wake me up I don't think a 3 day or 7 day trial is adequate.
Of course, all the things I have mentioned you should technically be able to do without a supplement so maybe it is just placebo, either way for myself I figure it's worth the money since it is helping get me on the right path of eating better and moving more. I still wouldn't push this supplement on anyone else. At the end of the day it really is eat less and move more.0 -
I have been an avid exercise person for years. I have ran 5 half marathons and had my weight go up and down. I have taken Thrive for almost 6 months. I think the point should be that there are ingredients in Thrive that are good vitamins. I personally love the shake and like knowing I am getting my probiotics. I ran my 5th half marathon without taking any ibuprofen. I have researched many supplements over the years and there isn't anything bad in Thrive. For all that you get it would cost more to buy it all separately. My husband is a high school basketball ref and when he doesn't take it, all 3 steps he comes home from a night of games in pain. He has been a skeptic and goes days without it trying to prove a point to himself. I didn't see a huge difference in the beginning either. I myself tested going without it for up to 2 weeks and my knee started to bother me again running. I felt way less energy to do my runs and getting up in the morning seemed a little harder. Think what you want, but I feel better and until something is proven its "bad" I'm going to keep feeling good.

the pains are relieved from the white willow bark which is similar to aspirin and for the energy part there is so much caffeine and caffeine derivatives which is what is giving you the energy and there is also synephrine which it is (similar to ephedra)in the vitamins. and if you are losing a lb every 3 days then its either water weight or your deficit is too big.for those who think its not bad look at the ingredients and the side effects they can have especially on those with health issues, sorry it may have some good vitamins in it but a lot of it is just probiotics, some vitamins and a lot of stimulants.0

Nearly everyone supplements nowadays. Calcium, Vitamin D, Iron, Fish Oil, and Daily Women's...that was mine before Thrive. With a 96% absorption rate, I'm willing to pay a little more over the non-absorbable crap they sell at Walmart. I KNOW that Thrive has benefitted me: I have spent years covering my discomforts with ibuprofen/aspirin/excederin/ANYTHING to give me relief: and only ended up with stomach ulcers. I will take the safe gentle anti-inflammatory relief, along with the improved regularity, increase in motivation, and good mood I get from Thrive any day. I think this comes down to doing your own research and trying it yourself. Make your own judgment: just because something is new and different...doesn't mean it's "bad."0
-
I have been Thriving for 8 months and only paid once. It works for me.0

Could someone give me the 'Reader's Digest condensed version' of what Thrive is? Is this a combination of supplements and shakes?0

An all natural combination of vitamins, minerals, plant extracts, anti-oxidants, enzymes, pro-biotics, and amino acids...it is used to help supplement the nutritional gap that can exist in even a balanced diet.0 -

MLM/pyramid scheme. Similar to Shakeology, Body by Vi, Herbalife, It Works, etc. made with low quality ingredients with outrageous claims not backed by science.0
