Growing up my parents never censored what I read or watched. I loved loved loved scary movies. But they never actually scared me. Only movie to truly terrify me and give me nightmares was Dark Crystal.

Nightmare on Elm Street for sure. My sisters thought it would be fun to make me watch it. I think I got maybe 20 minutes of sleep that night.

Parts of Fantasia scared me....(that creepy scene with the demons and stuff?)

Also, the Page-Master. I loved most of the movie, but when it got to Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, I just about jumped out of my skin.

The Birds, I remember it was on TV once, and I hid behind a chair. My kids saw it recently on TV, and laughed their heads off. "This is the movie Mom was scared of?"

Anaconda (I was 8 and didn't know there could be snakes anywhere near that big!), Pet Semetary (my cat had JUST died! D:), and Neverending Story, and when I was a teenager, Final Destination! Yikes I saw Death everywhere for weeks!
