In my case, only if I get too thin.

Too much body fat makes me look older. Too little makes me look older. In the middle is my happy place.

Me at 27. Ugh. Bad pic.

Me at 42. 80 lbs lighter. Weight seems to add years. Hydrate your skin and exercise. I think I look younger now than I did then for sure.

IMHO, if you are 50 and above, and lose a LOT of weight, then yeah, you will likely look haggard. Other than that, losing weight takes years off most people's faces.

I look older, but it's because it gets rid of my baby fat cheeks. I look super young if I have fat cheeks so I'm happy with the "older" look. I still look younger than my age, just not 10 or 15 years younger.

It also depends on what you mean by "a lot". I didn't notice any new wrinkles, and people tell me I look younger, but then I only lost about 40 pounds.

My face looks younger but my neck looks older. It is depressing if I think about it. I try to focus on all the positives instead- and I buy myself shoes. It helps.

Someone in my family who is 60+ lost about 70 lbs and looks at least 10 years older. So I guess it depends on age and all that.

I guess it would depend...probably depend on how old you already are and how much is a lot and genetics, etc. I've actually gotten both...I've had people tell me I look younger and people tell me I look older.

    Around 220 Lbs or so

    20130824_145608.jpg

    Current @ 180 Lbs

I don't think I really carried a ton of weight in my face though...the bulk of it was in my gut and moobs.

Sorry if it's redundant, but the keys to young skin are to 1) Hydrate! and 2) Sleep! and 3) Sunblock! (EDIT: and 4) Don't smoke!)

After that, it's all genetics, but you would be really surprised how much those things matter with skin ... I'm 52 and often get mistaken for my 30's and that's with a lot of wear'n'tear ... :)
