They count, but to be completely honest..... If your diet is otherwise where it should be, one celebratory day will not kill you. Don't go nuts and eat 5000cal on your bday, but if you want to go out and have a burger and a slice of cake w/ ice cream your diet will not go out the window. Enjoy your day, and get right back on it the next day. Odds are you will have sugar cravings if you have been "good" and don't eat it often, ignore them. They will pass within a couple of days.0

The week before my birthday, I had a bigger deficit than I usually do so I could bank all my calories and have a beautiful 4000 calorie day.0

Whyever not? That's what I'll be doing on my birthday in a few weeks.
Seriously though, I do this every now and again and it's all good as long as I get right back on track.0
