Yeah, she told me that the more rounds you do, the longer you have to wait in between, which correlates with Dr. Simeons' last paragraph (that was posted here). I'm still worried, regardless. The FDA in the 50s when it was first introduced, did NOT approve it.

Is that between courses of very low calorie diet as well as injections? Or is it between courses of injections but maintaining the 500cal diet??

    Arielle,

Please do not confuse anything that I am saying as me telling you not to worry about your mother. You should always worry when someone is having medical issues. I just want you to have all the information about the diet she is apparently on.

The book the creator of the HCG diet wrote is in the public domain and is widely available for free on the internet. I can PM you a link to it if you'd like.

I'm not sure. I think you're supposed to "maintain" in between injections but I don't know how many calories you're supposed to consume during that.

You stay on the 500-calorie diet for 72 hours after your last injection (or sublingual dose).Over the next 3 weeks, you gradually reintroduce more animal proteins, all vegetables, good fats and all low-sugar fruits. You are directed to stay within 2 pounds of the weight you achieved at the end of your injection cycle. If you gain more than 2 pounds, the book has guidelines for altering your eating habits to get back down to that weight. If you are going to be undergoing another round of treatment, you'd start it after 6 week waiting period is over. If you have reached your target weight, you can start reintroducing starches and sugars slowly during the last week. That is what your diet is going to be like in order to maintain the weight loss you achieved during the diet. You will find that your appetite is much lower as is the amount of food you are able to eat. You adjust your eating habits to ensure that you stay within the +/- 2 lbs of where you ended off.

If you have any other questions, I encourage you to read Dr. Simeons' manuscript. It's called "Pounds And Inches" and it is in the public domain. The 43-page PDF is readily available for free on the internet. I loaded mine into iBooks on my iPhone and have it for quick reference if need be.
