Sushi: Do you like it, or do you LOVE it?

It is interesting for me to learn how many people are on either side of the sushi fence. For me, I absolutely, unequivocally, unquestionably, undeniably, love sushi. Which side of the fence do you sit on when it comes to this very important topic?

I think Lewis Grizzard, humor/cpolitical columnist for the Atlanta Journal Constitution put it best many years ago:

We in the south have always had sushi.

    We call it bait.

You could be referring to Sashimi...(raw fish). Sushi has rice in it, tho that *would* be interesting to see if a fish would hit on it, lol.

Never had it....I hear the vegan stuff is really good though...I'd like to try that...You can't even get a vegan sandwich here though. It's expensive stuff to make even without the fishies!

Good sushi is a wonderful thing. Bad sushi is disgusting. The quality of the fish used makes or breaks it.
  • If you love sushi, no explanation is needed!!! if you do not love it, no explanation is possible!

Sushi also uses raw fish (usually with rice, like you said) whereas sashimi is strictly the raw meat. I've caught fish using gum wrappers as bait, so rice should be no problem.

I don't like sushi because I like my meat/fish cooked.

One of my absolute most favorite foods. Anytime I eat sushi I know I'm going well over on calories that day (and couldn't care less), because I'll eat sushi until I'm ready to explode.

Haven't done this yet, but my dream sushi dinner = about 2.5 lbs. of salmon sashimi. OM NOM NOM NOM.

Love Sushi, my favorite salmon. I was surprised how sweet salmon is before it's cooked and it's not as chewy as tuna.

You don't have to like raw fish to like sushi. I can think of several sushi preparations that have no fish at all, the word refers to the flavor of the rice, not the fish.

Well, if it's not love, it's a very sensual, bordering on porn-y, hookup.

Maguro nigiri: oh, so smooth, so tender, I love that! Unagi nigiri: ooh baby, yeah, satisfy me! Spider roll: I'm in the mood for something freaky!

California roll is the missionary position of sushi. There's nothing *wrong* with it exactly, and it's better than no sushi at all, but you can do better!
