i'd love to bring my kids up in that sort of community. i was brought up in little villages with tiny rural schools and loved it - i'm just sad that my kids aren't getting to experience that same type of up bringing. Hell, I'd love to emigrate but don't have the guts0

I'm another stones throw from the school so my boy comes home for lunch too. It's wonderful. our area is like a small town atmosphere in the city.

Our school district is pretty rural, so no walkers. The high school has a drive your tractor to work day at the end of the school year lol. There are always a few big tractors parked in the lot on that day.
Happens here too, also Prom is a showcase of who can have the coolest or craziest or wildest or most unique ride, it a full on parade just to get dropped off. Bleachers are brought in, red carpet laid out and maybe 2-3k people around watching and taking pics, my youngest is a senior so last prom to deal with. A month away I think, not sure his ride plans yet, but last year it was 12 couples together in a huge *kitten* RV with a lift gate in the back lmao, lots of tractors , hot rod cars, go carts, fire trucks, horse without the buggy, and one cpl skate boarded in together lol.0 -
I specifically build my house where it is so my kids can walk to school. I have fond memories of walking to school with my friends when I was a kid.0

I like being able to walk the boy to school. Means I get lots of steps in every day. we also have activities in walking distance so his art class which starts tomorrow we can walk to as well.0

that's one thing we didn't suffer from in our house - lack of sleep. we needed to get them alarm clocks so they'd get up (daughter is 5, son is 3)0

Ha! I get it. I work weekends, so I'm home Monday - Thursday. It's definitely a love/hate relationship. By the time Friday gets here I'm usually ready to get back to work.0 -

Oh man I wish. She is up at 12 and 3 usually and then it takes about an hour to get back to sleep.0
