My nipples hurt from the friction

I use surgical tape. I first got this problem last summer when I upped to 5 miles a day. I wore a polyester shirt but it had graphics from a 5K. One you get "runner's nipples" they are sensitive for a wile. I ended up just putting a square of surgical tape over each nipple. Problem solved. This has not re-occurred yet this spring, but if it does back to the tape I will go.
Since my initial problem I have always been careful to stay away from cotton, or shirts with graphics. So far so good.0 -

Totally get it. I wasn't expecting to run as long as I did my first time. It was just supposed to be quick trip to Mcdonalds. Ended up running distance in a heavy t-shirt that I got from a gun range in Vegas with the graphics. Man, that hurt.My MFP friends laughed at me when I mentioned it cause I didn't know that happened - especially to guys. The pictures online were fairly gruesome.

compression tops or band aids only two solutions for me, synthetic shirts and cotton both cause nipple scrapes for me.0

Somehow I think running in a shirt with the nipples cut out is going to end with a conversation with the cops, especially if you are running in a park with children present.0 -

Depends on if you are a man or a woman I guess!

Lots of good suggestions for you - please take them up, because it looks like it must be incredibly painful. (Well maybe not the nipple cutouts!)
My one and only ever half marathon finish line photo is memorable for all the wrong reason thanks to the poor guy finishing next to me who had run the marathon and was in a white shirt with blood stains dripping down from the nipple area... I haven't printed that out for the pool room!0 -

"Nip Guards" are nothing more than 3M Transpore tape. Get a roll and tear of small pieces to cover the nipples and you are set. No need to spend a fortune on specially cut tape.
Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I went with a few rolls of this 3M tape and used today for the first time. Sweated through my shirt but no chaffing. Seems like a good solution for now.

Definitely tape! Kept me chafe free from 1mi to 31mi over the last 8yrs. Band aids or duct tape if you really want it on there lol.0
