Spray whipped cream

I just had a 5 calorie orange jello with spray whipped cream. I had done well all day until getting out the can! I hadn't had this for a long time. My question is how is the best way to know what 2 tablespoons would be without smashing the whipped cream down to where it's milk?! What happens is I don't really know so then I just add more even when the jello is all gone

Whipped cream is meant to be measured fluffy, but you could weigh it for more accuracy.0

Yes, you would measure it fluffy....so 2 tablespoons is like a 2 second squirt, lol.

Awesome. That makes sense. Thanks!0

If you counted "one Mississippi, two Mississippi," you'd probably have a lot more than two tablespoons to be honest, but that's just my guess. I'd suggest weighing it! If you already had it maybe get a plate, zero it out on a scale, then squirt about however much you think you had and go from there! Should give you a better idea!0

Great idea! Thanks!! I think for now I will stay away from the whipped cream as it could be a weakness. Who am I kidding! It is a weakness, lol!1

Weigh the can before and after, log the difference3

Whipped cream is made of love and sunshine and puppy kisses and as such, I refuse to log it.4

I always assume I have taken 4-5 servings. I mean, take out a tablespoon and fill it with whipped cream. Even 2tbls is absolutely nothing. Maybe it would be appropriate garnish on a 1x1 Jello square...
Occasionally, I've found I can sub thick non-fat Greek yogurt flavored with vanilla and Truvia in the place of whipped cream for something like strawberry shortcake. Not whipped cream, but serves the same basic purpose.1 -
That's why I use a food scale.1

If only it worked that way.
Put the bowl on the scale, aim and fire, see what the kill count (grams/ounces/whatever) is at. Enjoy.3 -

For me usually 2-3 servings is enough, actually! I always thought I used more calories of whipped cream.0 -

I am randomly surprised by the things I thought would be smaller in serving size! Let's not talk about ice cream though...that was not one of those things.1 -
Would it work if I weighed myself, sprayed it straight into my mouth, and then weighed myself again?
I'm not sure any spray whipped cream has made it onto a dessert for me.4 -
Put bowl on food scale, press tare and squirt away. I find 30g is usually a decent amount.0
-
Food scale - and you need a few servings.0
-
Canned spray cream=grim, would rather buy some whipping cream and whisk it up.3

If you do end up weighing it can you post a picture of what 2 tbsp actually looks like? I've never weighed whipped cream and don't have any on hand but am curious how much a serving actually looks like haha.0
-
I weigh it as well. 2 servings (10g) is usually good for me--it's a decent amount. I do buy the fat free kind though, because it's less calories.0

is it really going to make much difference metabolically if it is a tablespoon more not really0

It says 5 grams on the picture. 20 grams is a serving for 45 calories.0 -

It depends. If you are careless on all of your measurements, those can really add up. If you have a lot yet to lose & have a big deficit, you may still lose weight even with all of those added calories. If you are closer to goal & don't have as much wiggle room it could make a big difference. I maintain at 1430 a day. That doesn't give me much room to make mistakes.1 -
I'm close to goal at 1200 calories. I see what you mean as far as the wiggle room to not make mistakes. I burn lots of calories a day with exercise and don't eat back those calories but that day I did0

All of your comments are awesome! Thanks a bunch for your ideas. I'm actually out of spray whipped cream now to try measuring it but I guess that's a good thing or I would want to eat it and as someone else said, spray in my mouth prior to making it to the dessert lol! Thanks everyone!!0

I don't know why I never would have thought to weigh it before when I first posted this...using a bowl, zeroing that out and weighing the whipped cream as I scoop it out or spray it out. It makes me feel so much more in control knowing that I can have as much as I want as long as I have the calories...and still lose weight!!0

Yep, this is pretty much how i weigh every thing i eat

I've easily used 10 servings of whipped cream at once - it's not as much as one would imagine. The only way to be accurate is to weigh.0

Of course, if one were to have a choice, one should always choose clotted cream over whipped cream1
