Ok so... new question... what could I bring to surprise her with once we get to the hotel? Clothing that I'd like her to wear (like a new dress)?

Personally, I'd be super happy if a bottle of chilled champagne were waiting, or if there was lingerie wrapped up for me. My husband knows my preferences (and size!), but the lingerie especially is a very personal thing and should be ventured into cautiously.

Honestly, buying Stuff can be difficult. If you just wrote her a card saying how excited you were to spend a lovely weekend together, that would probably be plenty to make her feel cared for.

Thank you! It's funny you mention lingerie.. she never buys herself anything nice in that area and I gave her a really pretty bra/underwear set a while back that she absolutely loved.. was wondering if that would be ok to do again.. The card is an amazing idea.. love it!

Forget dinner...I'd prefer maid service for the day...that's just me though

The one thing I've heard the most in this thread is that most men don't do much to help around the house... I will make sure that doesn't become an issue. Thanks for taking the time.

I know you were looking for the ladies but I can tell you what's done it for me in the past. I've taken a few extra hours off work and cleaned up on top of the dinner. Coming home to a clean house with dinner made is one of the best things I can do for my wife. Flowers for that added touch!

I don't think it's trying too hard if whatever you do speaks to your wife...we all have our "thing", sounds like you know her well!

Not to sound materialistic, but buy them something they may have mentioned wanting before but wouldn't buy for themselves. It shows they are worth it and that you paid attention to things they say.

OP - Just a thought: does she have a Pinterest profile? You might be able to creep some good ideas for jewelry, shoes (my wife goes nuts when I find shoes that are like the ones she pinned), clothing, and even little trinkets.

Thank you my friend! Someone else also mentioned that but 99% of her Pinterest profile is about food that she's made. I'll keep creepin though.

Everybody wants something different...just wanted to throw out that buying clothes was a "do not cross" line for me. I had someone do that once and it was really, really uncomfortable. The kind of relationship makes a difference though--probably not a good idea to do this in a new relationship. In a marriage or more established relationship, it would have a different tone.

My SO brought me a steaming pile of cow manure yesterday, which made me extraordinarily happy. I am an avid gardener but I do not have a truck to haul such things, so it was a GREAT gift...for me. Most girls probably would not want cow poop...to each her own. :) You have to tailor to her specific personality.

All I need to add is a big DON'T...after posting about needing advice from just "the ladies"...you probably shouldn't inbox your responders with friend requests and offers to "chat". I doubt this bozo has any time to make dinner for his wife or clean the house because he's too busy bugging other women. Have a great day all!

Yes but nobody here wants to hear about your cow kitten porn. This isn't an xrated site
