Disgusting I know but I've been in a plateau for two weeks. I also haven't had a BM in two weeks. I'm thinking there's a connection

Try taking milk of mag that helps me along with benfiber and stool softners and i suffer with cronic constipation for years if that doesnt help go see your doctor to make sure you dont have a blockage1

Wow, two weeks is not good. Are you not eating enough food? Please give your doctor a call. In the meantime get some prune juice and drink on an empty stomach.1 -

You must be feeling seriously uncomfortable by now and I agree you should be seeing a doctor.
In the meantime (from someone who has been in that position more than once thanks to a medical condition + codeine) there are a few things you can try. First fresh orange juice or even better several oranges, I find they sometimes help. A warm bath also helps relax things, because just the knowing how much it's going to hurt when you do go will make you tense and less likely to go.
Then there are the laxatives, you're going to want to use both a softener and irritant. Have you tried chewing on a liquorish root? That can help. When pregnant I drink a glass of prune juice a day, which can help. Drink lots and lots of water, a glass an hour if you can manage it and walk around, just the moving around is sometimes enough for me. Walk around the house (not too far from the toilet) for 15mins every hour. Once you are on the toilet have a step or something to put your feet on so that you're in the optimal position, sometimes I actually need to stand and squat as if I'm in labour, but Western toilets are not ideally designed for anyone with constipation issues.2 -
Take milk of magnesia and then a glass of warm prune juice. The nurses at my husband's hospital call it "the bomb". I had the same issue six months ago and it helped. Or you can have a GI doc give you a colonoscopy prep. That also works.2

Oh my goodness, I am so sorry you are going through. You must be so uncomfortable. I have struggled with severe constipation from different medications I had taken in the past, and a slow digestive track so I feel your pain. I have found that magnesium citrate vitamin pills work great, and are fairly safe. It acts as an osmotic laxative, drawing water into your colon to move things along. You can also take them regularly and they won't injure your track like stimulate laxatives such as senna, and many of the other OTC laxatives.
You're at a point where you should consider seeing a doctor if you've already tried other things. If not, while you are going through this reduce your fiber intake (it just adds more bulk which isn't beneficial while constipated), and increase your water consumption. You may also consider an enema, as you need to get this resolved.
If you go to much longer without a movement you could end up having some serious damage done to your track. Personally, if it had been two weeks and I hadn't gone I would see a doctor ASAP.0 -

since every bit of food you've eaten plus all the food parts of anything like protein drinks are still inside you. that's pounds of stuff. so of course, that's going to add to your scale weight.3 -
Are you eating enough fat? Fat is really necessary for a good digestions. Are you drinking enough? Other than that what the others have said: go and see a doctor now.1

you should try a detox tea or just go to the doctor thats not normal, but me and my friend who are also on a weightloss we notice we get constipated a lot0 -
2 weeks with out a number 2 is not good, you need to take a laxative or go see your doctor, that's serious constapation .

When you change your diet abruptly, this happens. It's normal. I started doing lower carb and my body hasn't totally adjusted yet - frustrating!
My advice is to get an osmotic laxative like Miralax, or generic version to help *ahem* get things going again. Also, perhaps look into getting extra probiotics via fermented foods like yogurt/kombucha/kimchi, or a supplement.
There's also different versions of tea. Smooth Move by Traditional Medicinals, or anything with Slippery Elm. I also find anything caffeinated helps to stimulate my digestive system.
Going for the doctor isn't really an option for me... so I'm not about to shout "go see a doctor!" at you for something you might be able to resolve on your own. Self medicate today and see if you can get it worked out by tomorrow.2 -
Pretty certain the lack of bm is the cause for not losing any weight, that is 2 weeks of food waste backed up in there. Try some over the counter laxatives or a fibre supplement (or both) and I would suggest that if that doesn't get you going soon see a doctor I can imagine there's some serious discomfort involved0

OP - I see a lot of people recommending fiber - in your situation that is a very bad idea. You are already blocked, and fiber will only increase the amount of blockage.
While fiber is great to keep you regular, in many instances of constipation, fiber will just make the situation worse. I know I already posted some suggestions, but after seeing the additional fiber recommendations wanted to reiterate that in your current condition, more fiber would be harmful.
Again, I think it would be a good idea for you to see a doctor. If that's not possible increase your water consumption and take an osmotic laxative, while will direct water to your colon, and try an enema. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!7 -

I was constipated for 6 days and took fibre tablets with my meal last night and pooped this morning and then I took more with each meal today and had another poo recently. I've noticed my diet is both low carb and low fat so constipation could be common for me. I'm going to keep taking the fibre pills now just to help keep me regular. Hope that gets sorted soon hun xx0

Please listen to this advice and heed it - call your doctor ASAP and please do not take more fiber. I ended up in the hospital, very sick and in shock from taking Metamucil to combat 9 days of constipation. The fiber has nowhere to go when you are completely blocked, which you have to be after two weeks. It simply backs up in your system, which eventually will cause severe pain and vomiting (which put me into shock) and other possible severe complications.
Please follow the advice to get an osmotic laxative, and go buy yourself some Fleet enemas. Buy the mineral oil one as well as the water ones, and use the mineral oil one first - it will really help soften the impacted stool, then follow the instructions for following with the water.
Just . . . no more fiber. Do that after you fix the problem.5 -
Fleet glycerin suppositories--will work in about 15-30 minutes. I had this problem recently--couldn't stand it--was blocked for nearly a week. I'm so sorry you are experiencing this--painful and distressing. I have also used Fleet saline enemas in the past--they work FAST. If you aren't comfortable using products like these--please go to an urgent care or walk-in clinic NOW. Wishing you good health!2

The magnesium vitamins are good... When I'm stopped up, I take 3 tablets with lots of water before bed, and will go in the morning without the pain of a laxative.0
