    one can Chick peas
    1 sauteed Vidalia/Walla-Walla onion
    lemon juice to taste
one diced jalapeno pepper (seeded if you want less spice)
Sesame oil (pick your favorite flavor to go with the above)

Adjust proportions to taste and servings needed.

Serve as a hot weather side to any grilled meats.

Sultanas, hazelnuts or almonds, coconut flakes, cocoa powder. Put in food processor, grind nicely, mix in balls and roll on the coconut. Mmmmm! No refined sugar and plenty of nutrients in these raw choc balls.

    1/2 can chickpeas
    1/4-1/2 avocado
    salt
    pepper
    bread or pita

Drain, rinse, and mash chickpeas with a fork.
    Mash avocado.
    Combine chickpeas and avocado.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Serve on bread or in pita.

Absolutely delicious, creamy chickpea salad sandwich. Very filling. One of my favorite lunches served with a salad or broccoli slaw.

  • Suppose I should have read the requirement about chic peas or beans before posting. :) In which case I will add instead pinto beans in the crock pot with just a bit of olive oil, water, garlic, and onion. Sorry I haven't cooked with chic peas~ all my hummus comes from Sabra!

Any seasoning - I use garlic salt and rosemary

Put chickpeas in bowl w/ seasoning and toss to coat. Spread on greased cookie sheet and bake @ 450 degrees for 1 hour. A yummy, crunchy treat!

    Spicy Chickpea Chili
    (Not counting salt and pepper)
    1 Can Chickpeas
1 lb 96% lean Ground beef
1 Can diced tomatoes with juices
    Chili Powder 3-5 TBSP
    Cumin 1TBSP

Brown ground beef add in seasonings and canned chickpeas/tomatoes... simmer for 20-30 minutes

If you want to make it 6 or 7 items you can add in a couple of garlic cloves and an onion when you are browning your meat OR to keep it to 5 or 6.... leave out the meat! The chickpeas are hardy enough.

Chickpea curry with couscous or rice

    1 can chick peas (drained)
    1 can chopped tomatoes
    1 onion
    crushed garlic
1 or 2 tsp curry powder

Saute onion then add garlic and curry powder (add more or less depending on how hot you like it). Add chickpeas and stir it around a tad then add canned toms, heat it up then serve on either couscous or rice. (yes I know it's 6 ingredients if you include what you serve it with :p )

    Devilish Chick Spread:

    3 cups drained chickpeas
1/2 cup mayo (I make my own vegan version)
    1 tsp curry powder
    1 Tblsp prepared yellow mustard
    1 Tblsp lemon juice
    3 Tblsp fresh chives

Pulse everything together in the food processor until blended. Enjoy!

    (I know there's 6 ingredients, but I always was a rebel!)

    Chickpea pasta!

    pasta
    chickpeas
    diced tomatoes (canned or fresh)
    garlic
Other veg as desired (suggested: mushrooms, zucchini, spinach, etc)

Cook pasta to not quite al dente. Soften or brown garlic, add other veg and chickpeas and simmer together until tomatoes break down slightly. Finish the pasta in the sauce.
