Production Control Management. Sit at a desk in front of a computer for the last 14 years. At 61, I couldn't do the things I did when I was younger. A couple years to retirement.1

Isn't it SO frustrating? Some days my back is sore by noon and I know I haven't sat down since I drove here and yet my step count is so very low. Lately I've been pacing the deck or playground any few minutes I can spare to add in some extra steps and try to beat my daily goal.0 -

Quality and Document Control... Basically I sit at a desk all day.0

I'm out there in the finance world. Let me tell you, it is a pretty lazy world. The most exercise you get is walking to and from the bathroom/kitchen/cafeteria.0
-
Radio announcer. It isn't active unless you count how much I run my mouth.1
-
Scientist. Mentally active, but not physically active. I'm mostly stuck at a desk most of the day.0
-
Technical supervisor. Half the time sitting but half on the production floor, so slightly active overall I think.0
-
Accountant at a utility company. Only activity I get during the day is walking to and from the printer. I do go out and take a walk at lunch when the weather is decent. Need to get away from my desk or I go nuts.0

I do accounting. Not active at all. However my company is becoming more health conscious and buying employees stand up desks if they want them. I got one and waiting for my portable elliptical to arrive! I'll be exercising at my desk any day now0
-
Lab tech/Animal husbandry in bio-medical research. Highly active. Average 14-16k steps a day, 10k by lunch.1
-
Engineer. I sit way, way, way too much.0
-
Nanny I don't tend to sit down!0

Software engineer, but only part-time. I work 3 days week while my little kids are in pre-school. The rest of the time I'm raising 3 kids ages 7, 5, and 3. I'm pretty active - they keep me busy. That and being a wife to a military man who is hardly ever around keeps me even busier.0

Pokemon Master1
-
Nurse. Usually log 5 to 6 miles in 8 hour shift. Lots of bending, lifting, pushing. CPR is pretty strenuous- glad that's not a daily occurrence.0
-
Teacher. I usually stay fairly active throughout the day.

in short sales, so sitting in the office all day, only activity is when i go to toilet, i hate myself for that but such is life0

high school teacher....lightly active. About 6500 steps when I leave work. Advantage is I have an awesome gym I use regularly at school, and I tend to go for jogs/walks at lunch (which can push my steps up to 12000). I even bike to work (45 mins) if I have the time and weather is decent.
So,,the job itself is moderately active but it allows me to get in a few workouts0 -
I'm currently a full time student, not employed right now. Working towards being a virologist or working within disease research.0

-
Deputy Director of Emergency Management and 911, so that's mostly office work. Also a volunteer firefighter and part-time EMT, so some days are much more active than others.0
-
I work in a county jail. A lot of walking. Not much more.0

Mental Health Biostatistician/Epidemiologist.
My steps include trips to the bathroom and the printer. I don't even get those extra steps to the break room, anymore, because I now have a mini fridge under my desk. I do have an under-the-desk stair master and take walks on breaks. I also work on the second floor (wish it was the 20th floor) and take the stairwell.1
