Prediabetic

Hello Everyone!
My doctor told me I was prediabetic in January. I have been trying to educate myself and find the best solutions to reverse my trend. I am 6' 6" and started at 284 pounds. I have walked a minimum of 10,000 steps everyday and have lost 44 pounds.
My problem is my fasting glucose level has dropped from 127 to 105. I have just started trying to cut my carbs below 100g on a daily basis or 25% of my macros.
I have never had a problem I could not solve. Maybe in three months my numbers will show significant improvement, but until then I am open to suggestions and success stories.
Thanks!

Hello! I wasn't pre-diabetic but I did have insulin resistance which is similar. I started exercising and following a diet plan. I dropped 50 pounds and at my last check up was told I no longer have insulin resistance. Here is the information I got from a nutritionist when I was first diagnosed- it made it seem not so daunting. I'm definitely not a medical professional, but I don't see any reason that this diet outline wouldn't work for you. Feel free to add me as a friend.
Eat no more than 30 grams of carbs per meal/snack, and most importantly, balance your carbs and protein. Eat at least half as many grams of protein as carbs. For example, if your meal has 25 net carbs (carb grams minus fiber grams) then you need to eat at least 12.5 grams of protein. By balancing your carbs and protein it doesn't freak out your blood sugar level as much. And of course, eat as many non-starchy veggies as you want1 -
Thank you0

When you say eat no more than 30 grams of carbs per meal, is that net carbs or total carbs? Thanks so much0 -
I am also prediabetic/ insulin resistant and have cut my carb intake to 50 grams per day. I've added a lot of eggs and lean protein to my diet. I didn't do it overnight for sure, but in the past few months have brought it down. There are veggies and fruits that are lower in carbs and lots of recipes out there that can help. I am talking total, not net carbs.0
