Walking in the am

I would like to know is it beneficial to walk as soon as a person awakes? I have been walking as soon as I awake in the mornings I get up and out walking with in 5 minuts. Any thoughts and advice thanks in advance

As far as benefits for weight loss, walking in the morning versus walking any other time of day doesn't really matter. As long as it's a time that you will do it.

For me, exercise in the morning is my favorite because 1) it puts me in a good mood at the start of my day 2) wakes me up and 3) I don't have to worry about fitting it into my day later on.

I have read that walking in the morning on an empty stomach helps get your metabolism going so that's what I have been trying . As well I after working all day it's hard to want to walk.

It does not. Walking any time of day is good for you, though, so enjoy!

I think I'd injure myself if I did that.

But I do walk 35 minutes after I get up, on my way to work ... and again at lunch ... and after work ...

Nope, your metabolism chugs away 24/7. There have been a couple of studies that suggested that one may burn a little more fat when doing cardio fasted but the difference was minuscule and the fuel source is meaningless in the context of weight loss.

Personally I'm a morning person. My favourite time to run is 5:00AM but that's all it is is personal preference.

Depending on what you do for a living going for a walk or bike ride etc after work may actually make you feel more energetic. I'm more likely to doze off on the sofa on days I've done nothing after work, your mind likes to lie to you.....

    +1

Walking in the early morning sunshine when the world is quiet is one of the nicest parts of my day.

I walk in the mornings because I can get an hour walk in before my husband and kids wake up and I prefer to have checked that off my list of things to do. If I wait till after work, it is much easier to find other things to prioritize ahead of it.

Your metabolism is always going. The times of day you eat and exercise have nothing to do with it.
