    but could the disconnect be (relatively) high visceral fat?
    17.5%

    The video says it's brain fat. Seriously, they assume he has 23% brain fat.

    You're making that up.

    I mean, the dexa would break out the parts, so they should know the BF% of each component. But if he has 23% brain fat, and his head is 25% of his total body weight, then...

    LOLOLOLOL. :laugh: Sorry, I just pictured what this would look like. Guess I need to watch this video to understand better the claim...because my BSometer is maxed right now.

    Listen at 4:25 and then look at the stop frame at 4:41 23.9% brain fat. I. Kid. You. Not.

    lololol.

    I had a dexa scan, they never measured my brain, or gave brain fat %

    It was arms legs and trunk as in head and body.

    Ok, I'll be serious for a second.

    Different machines use different compartment models and calculate averages differently. Whatever method you used to get your BF% calculated, it's usually better to be consistent and use the same machine and methods the following time.

    For example, in the OPs post the brain fat percent was 23.9% and the whole body was 12.5%. You can correct for the body as follows (given than the brain is about 25% body mass).

    23.9%/4 + 3*x/4 = 12.5% solve for x

    x = 8.7%

    so, excluding the head - the remaining BF% is 8.7% (this is probably incorrect... by the way)

    or you can look at the data posted on the video and average the compartments that don't include the head.

    (see... science...)

    The conclusion is so much more satisfying when I have to work for it :)
