i've not been able to see my NewsFeed for about 4 days, has anyone else noticed this?

if i use the MFP app, it works as usual, however i'd like to view the newsfeed once again using the Safari web browser. Am wondering if the problem is only with Apple tech products?

They are phasing out the newsfeed. Several discussions in the forums, but i can't put my finger on the announcement.

Lots of people leaving and going over to Lose It. It's easier to talk to friends over there

This makes me so sad. My sister and I always motivate each other on MFP thru the newsfeed!

MFP didn't make a formal announcement about them removing the Newsfeed feature, they made an announcement about an "Activity Feed" which is NOT a replacement of the soon-to-be removed Newsfeed, and they didn't allow comments on that announcement because they don't care or want our opinions on this newest lapse of judgment. MFP did this on purpose so the removal of the Newsfeed would be a done deal before much "upheaval" from its users.

@MacInCali This sums it up perfectly. There was no official announcement about the News Feed being removed. I also noticed that they closed the announcement of the "Activity Feed" to avoid comments and feedback on it:

    community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10915268/welcome-to-your-activity-feed#latest

No one who is attached to the News Feed wants the ugly public "Activity Feed" and they know it. If you choose to make that page private, no one can see it, not even friends. It's all or nothing with that mess. When clicking on MacInCali's profile link, you get the ugly "Permission Problem, This user's profile is private" page: community.myfitnesspal.com/en/profile/MacInCali

Good for you for making that page private; I did, too. However, the only way to contact someone now is on the forum or a private message.

This is awful that the newsfeed is gone, and my food logging isn’t working either… I’ve been using this app for years! And now I think I might need to find a new one 😩

Aha, thank you! They posted the announcement about retiring the News Feed two weeks (13 days) after they posted an announcement about the "new Activity Feed" that is not-so-new.

I don't think lose it is for Androids though I looked for it in my Google Play store and couldn't find it.

fat secret seems to have some kind of a feed. What I don't like about fat secret is you have to be premium to log water... That's dumb and it doesn't have as complete a nutrition breakdown as MFP does.

But maybe it does if you're a premium user over there. I just renewed my MFP premium and now I'm mad. I didn't use the news feed a lot but I did scroll through it I would comment on other people's updates.

What a ham fisted idiotic move

Lose It definitely exists for Android. But perhaps they have certain requirements regarding the Android version that make it inaccessible for some?

I don't know I have a very recent like the most recent version of the Samsung Galaxy so I don't know why it didn't show up in my Play store. I searched for it and instead I got all different results.
