I never thought id say that, but bqcon is not worth it. Too many calories. Im on a low calorie diet and 4 pieces of bacon has nearly 500 calories. Thats not enough food for that much of my daily allowance.

Yeah, the key is to stick with low calorie but high in protein foods, such as chicken or beef. That doesn't mean you can never eat bacon tho!4
-
Wow, what bacon are you eating!? I'm an average female and I can easily fit bacon into my allowance!74

That's some very high calorie bacon there!23 -
That's high calorie bacon! The bacon I get is 56 cals a slice....22

I eat this one, 2 rashers = 96 calories grilled not fried. Maybe look around a bit more at different types, cut fat off etc?
Typically most rashers seem to be 200cals per 100g, depends on thickness of rasher.

I just used mfp and picked bacon. I will have to look at the package as i love bacon so much. But no mouth pleasure is greater than my goals.4

Where did you find 100+ calorie slices of bacon? I need somma dat!3

Holy cow. Check the packet, don't trust the database. That doesn't sound right. I love me some bacon.12
-
use the app to scan your particular packet
i can usually fit in 2 rashers of bacon
i cant imagine a life without a toasted cheese and bacon sandwich.1 -
A life without bacon would be so very sad... (well, unless you're a vegetarian and then it's probably just fine! ) There is ALWAYS a way to fit bacon into your life. I would also check the particular bacon you are eating, mine is lovely lean back bacon and no way is it 500 cals for 4 slices!!5

Have you ever heard about rice paper bacon? It sounds a bit weird but the vegan community raves about it. Maybe it's worth a try?2

I was about to recommend rice paper bacon, it looks so good! I've bought all the ingredients, I just can't find the rice paper, I'm going to check a Vietnamese grocery store tomorrow. If it tastes half as good as it looks I'll share the recipe

Think you have picked a bad database entry - four rashers of the bacon I ate yesterday would be 240 calories.4 -
Soubds more like it. Thanks everybody.3

Bacon is totally worth it6

I can see from previous entries everyone has let you know you can eat bacon and it isn't 500 cal. I just want to mention that I bake it on a rack. I think you have to find a way to work the foods you love into your meal plan. If not you will obsess about what you are missing and binge.9

Look up nutrition info for microwaved bacon! I put 2 layers of paper towel on a plate, lay the bacon down, cover with another paper towel, and microwave for 1 minute per slice and add 30 seconds on to the total because I like crispy bacon. The fat cooks out and into the paper towels. So far I've found this works best with Oscar Mayer bacon. You may need to adjust cooking time for your taste and per brand of bacon. It cuts the calories and fat almost in half. The info I have found says 25 calories, 2 grams of fat per slice. I've used that as my bacon info, which i eat at least 4 days a week, without any problems. Give it a try.6 -
I like my lou's apple wood smoked bacon (smoked pork loin similar to Canadian bacon) 5 slices for 120 calories...it's the bomb.4
-
The bacon I use has 500 kcal in a whole 150 g package...the entry you used is way off... I also prepare it in the oven so no extra calories there3
-
This thread makes me so sad. I'm going to go drown my sorrows in a big glass of bacon. Which only has 40 cals/slice by the way...17
-
...I switched to turkey bacon. It wasn't the calories, it was the fat and the sodium that made me part ways with it.7
-
I dunno about anyone else but I want some 500 calorie bacon.14
