So I really don't like meat so I ate black beans, chic peas, cottage cheese, corn with skinny girl balsamic vinaigrette dressing and it's full of carbs. So how's this healthy? Seems like it

Carbs are good, not seeing a problem unless advised by your doctor to eat a low carb diet.14

What's wrong with carbs?9

Carbs are the latest health boogeyman. If you want to go low carb or you've been told to by a doctor, you may want to stay away from carbs. Otherwise, they're not unhealthy.3

There is nothing unhealthy about carbohydrate. I suggest you check out this article series from the MFP help section. It is written by a registered dietician and it explains things like carbs, fat, protein, and micronutrients very well.

p.s. beans are awesome0 -
Carbs are not unhealthy. Also, everything you listed except maybe the dressing had carbs in it. Why focus on the beans?1

There's absolutely nothing wrong with carbs. Why do you think they're unhealthy?0

Carbs are completely necessary to keep your body running.1

Your body needs carbs for energy.3

Beans are healthy and have more than just carbs in them, they just are not super low calorie and you can't eat bowls and bowls of them1
-
Did the food make you sick? In what way did the beans negatively impact your health?
Beans have plenty of nutrients and thus can be a great part of a healthy diet.
Carbohydrates are not unhealthy and most foods contain some. Vegetables have carbs. Fruit has carbs. Dairy has carbs. Processed meats have some carbs.
Weight loss is about calories anyway not carbs. Don't go crazy restricting foods with carbs to lose weight.2 -
Beans are healthy...not sure why you think that they are unhealthy...2
-
Beans also have protein!2

It depends on what she is doing.
Playing with your macros give different results.
If you are getting too much carbs for your goals with beans then learn about the veggies that are packed with protein like broccoli and spinach and don't forget endume and mung beans and Tempe (My favorite tofu)
Do an online search and I found that most publications are fairly accurate.
Good luck beautiful1 -

except vegetables have carbs too1 -
Beans are not unhealthy, regardless of what you believe about carbs. When you see beans excluded from a diet it is usually as a measure to reduce insulin resistance, which causes exaggerated insulin swings. It doesn't mean they are not nutrious foods in there own right, it is simply about choosing foods based on the state of your own health. If you are not insulin resistant you do not need to avoid them unless you chose to. (However, I don't subscribe to the concept that all carb heavy foods are equal, ergo, the blanket 'all carbs are healthy' is not advise I'd follow personally).2

Not nearly as much as beand hun,
I'm on a carb restricted diet now and I understand what she is going through.
I'd rather spend my carbs on a peach then beans if I don't have to4 -
Beans are healthy, a lovely combination of carbs, fiber, protein, and sometimes fat.
If you are on a low carb diet, beans might not fit into your diet, but that doesn't make them less healthy.5 -
You need to look at some of the low carb diets out there if that's what you're trying to do; all the ones I've looked at restrict legumes in the initial phase but add them back into the diet in subsequent phases. The initial phase lasts a few weeks at most. And any diet plan that says you can't eat beans ever is complete BS.2

Be sure to weigh and measure the beans out. I wouldn't eat more than 1/2 cup at one meal. They are high in carbs. I always show a gain the next couple days after eating beans.2 -
Are you diabetic? If not, then no need to "worry" about carbs.0
-
um, carbs doesn't = 'unhealthy'. Your base premise is wrong.1

I am eating low carb (not Keto) and I eat all those things. Beans are healthy.2

Beans are so healthy. Last time I lost the weight I was eating a ton of them1

Beans are my go-to when I want to get full on less calories...2

And no matter what they aren't "unhealthy" as she is labeling them in the OP.1 -

that means you ate too many calories, not too many carbs.2 -
If you don't eat meat, you are probably going to have a hard time eating low carb.....eat the beans. They are delicious and have protein and are very filling.3

No, the calories in one portion of beans are too small to show as perceptible fat gain. More likely she is maintaining a fairly low carb diet, and the beans represent a big carb increase compared to the usual, and so cause an increase in water retention. This will be temporary.
Can everyone please stop treating water weight as a bad thing? Is just a thing. And carbs are food, there's nothing "unhealthy" about them. And beans are about the healthiest carb source there is, as they also contain protein, fibre and other good stuff!
They really are good for the heart. And they also make you...4 -
