It's usually not a donut because they're just too calorie dense and aren't satisfying enough for me, but yes I have sweets every day.

I don't call any food bad because if you want it and it fits into your daily diary, then why the heck not?

Another word I don't use on my health journey is cheat. That word has such a negative connotation.

I eat what I want while on my journey. I make the choice what I eat and everything I choose, I enjoy :) I log it, it's done and I move on.

If I want something I just work it into my daily goal. I really haven't given anything up. I just eat smaller portions of some things or have them less often.

Donuts are totally "bad" for me. If there are half a dozen donuts in my general vicinity and no one else is eating them, you can bet they'll all end up in my belly. It may take a couple days but it'll happen. :)

Otherwise, a day doesn't go by that I don't have cookies, chocolate, some kind of pure carby stuff. I fit them in (and exercise to give me more calories so I *can* eat what I want).

Same as everyone above. I don't view foods as good and bad, I don't use it as a reward, but I still eat things like doughnuts, Oreos, ice cream and pizza in moderation. I fit them into my calorie goal while focusing on eating a variety of other nutrient dense foods.

Pretty much this. I have ice cream or chocolate every night before bed. I just make it fit into my calorie goals.

I think of doughnuts as bad, as in high calories, not the best nutritional value but tasty !

I have a sneaky suspicion that lots of strict calorie counters do not include a donut in their day. Maybe one every two week or even less frequent. :) Donuts are too calorie dense and don't seem to worth the calories!!!!

Tell me I'm wrong, daily donut eaters! :)

I have seen daily ice cream but havent seen daily donuts. Personally i only do muffins or a chickfila milkshake every few weeks or once a month.

Let's see..today I had a Rice Krispie treat and some Now and Laters while I was working out. I've also had a salted carmel candy and a couple of coffees with cream and sugar. I can't fit a whole dang donut in my diet every day but I have a treat every day for sure.

Does anyone just include a donut or some other "bad" food in their day to keep cravings in check or as a reward? still keeping within your calorie allotment for the day .

Yes, alcohol. I don't crave foods with trans fats or nitrates like I did before my 70+ lb weight loss but a Margarita on a hot night is totally worth the empty calories. Sometimes a small peach milkshake, but that's definitely not a "bad" food, just calorie dense.

No food is good or bad, it's all just food. Weight loss is about calories in and out and, personally, I enjoy having treats each day.

When I was younger I loved donuts, but I lost a taste for them somewhere in my adulthood.

I do not consume any "bad" foods throughout the day on any day. I'm very disciplined like that. If I have a craving for something "bad" I'll take something "good" and manipulate my mind into thinking it's something "bad" like making a protein drink using less liquid and adding a tablespoon of sugar/fat free pudding mix to make it thick, rich, and chocolatey!

I ate 6 one hundred calorie brownies, but I work the night shift and ate 4 of them just to stay awake. I had poorly planned my night, and didn't bring my sandwich. However, I knew that I was going to get a work out in today. Usually try to fit it a snack in my day, which helped with the whole weight loss adventure. 2.8 pounds from maintenance, but once there, not planning on making significant changes in my diet.

I eat them regularly. I try not to think of food as bad although I get where you are coming from as its fried and obviously not as nutrient dense as say the same amount of calories from a salad but I think it's fine in moderation. I know I eat pizza all the time while others consider it a cheat meal. I think if it fits in your calories then eat it. I would much rather eat normal food in smaller portions then "diet" food in mass quantities. But that's just me!

You can certainly have donuts and lose weight as long as you're under that threshold. I personally stay away from them because donuts is a trigger food for me

I sometimes get a chocolate bar and eat half as a treat. When I do decide to have something like chocolate or ice cream or a pastry, I'll only do it if it's *really* good -- Drunkin Donuts or Hershey's Kisses don't do it for me and aren't worth the calories. Neither does store-brand "ice milk" (whatever the hell that is) -- I'll get gelato, frozen yogurt, or high-fat ice cream. A treat should be a treat.

The other rule I have is, I don't keep large quantities of these things around the house because, well, I know myself. I'll go out and get a chocolate bar, or a dish of ice cream -- and having to go out for it makes it even more special.

I also think "cheat" has no place in discussions of diet -- deciding to eat or not eat something is NOT a moral decision, and eating it (or having a bad day) isn't a sin.

I make my own treats to help me fight my emotional eating impulses to binge on food that I know makes me feel like crap. I do make donuts. :)
