My numbers seem off, anyone care to chime in?

Hey, so I read through the stickies and calculated my TDEE using various calculators throughout the web (I know these tools aren't 100% accurate). My results are always basing my TDEE circa the 2.8k-3k mark (I set activity level to sedentary on all). Using this info MFP tells me to eat at 2.2k cals to lose 1lb a week, but I feel this is a little low? Or am I completely wrong in assuming such? I'm fine with eating at 2.2k but if it's unhealthy or not sustainable in the long run I would like to know now before I commit to such a calorie number, so I would appreciate all and any feedback you guys can give.

I'm a little over 6ft, around 250LBs, and 25 years old, if it helps. I know that getting stressed over numbers isn't healthy but I just want to double check my numbers are in a correct ballpark for healthy and sustained weight loss. Sorry if this is a redundant topic!

TDEE includes exercise and MFP does not. If you remove the exercise part from the TDEE calculations (spread across the week) you'll end up with about 2700 calories, so when you subtract 500 from that (the rate to lose a pound per week) you end up with 2200. MFP assumes you'll eat back most of your exercise calories.

Based on your stats I'd say all of the numbers sound about right.

If your TDEE is calculated at appx 2.8-3k and MFP said 2.2k to lose...1lb a week yah that's reasonable.

you need to consume appx 3500 calories less a week to lose 1lb.

YOu have to remember tho too...MFP is giving you calories without any exercise...so if you do exercise you get to eat more food...most recommend to start eating back 50-75% of exercise calories...

And if you find you are hungry look at the foods you are eating...protein and fats help keep you feeling fuller longer.
