Do you judge people on appearance?

I went for a walk one night and saw a crazy looking dude. Unusually crazy looking, and muttering to himself. I took a different route home to avoid him. Everybody judges people on appearance, we do it because it's been a successful behavior throughout most of our evolution.1

I'm never gonna talk to them anyway and get to know them.... so hell yeah I'm judging the *kitten* out of their appearance.0
-
I dont judge people based on a specific appearance. It's more of a vibe that I instantly know if I want to say hi or not. Except personal hygiene, I totally judge on that.1
-
yes and no. Not based on attractiveness per se but if someone looks like they slept in a dumpster, I'm probably going to suspect all is not well.1
-
I judge but only for safety (creepy vibe), cleanliness (this must be a choice, if the person's lazy but not if they're unable), fairness (4 chairs at my Motor Vehicle Commission's crowded lobby, on each side of a man; were empty because he only had holes for his nose & ears, due to being burned. I sat right next, to him) & awe (if I notice something I like).1

People are going to judge- no matter which end of the spectrum you're on
how & why?0 -
All of us probably have judged at some point, or do continue to judge. I realized after getting to know some people really well in certain "groups" I didn't used to like, that they're awesome people too. It's never a good idea to judge unless you know the person well and it's for a good reason!0

I judge a lot of people around here by what they wear.........People of Walmart outside of Walmart. *shudders*1

Shop snobbery eh? IDGAF about any of that. I will gladly snag lovely stuff (that was worn maybe twice) at the Rescue Mission thrift shop for three to 5 dollars. Anywhere that I can afford it. If Macy's has a sale low enough to actually make it affordable to me, that's cool.... Amazon, sales anywhere, if it looks good on me and is comfy I have gotten what I want. LMAO my car door handle on the driver's side is 3 zip ties because it broke off. *shrugs* People worry about the silliest things. Macy's Burberry's blah blah blah yeah okay, I'm going to Target to hit the clearance rack. XD3 -

I troll people for I am a natural dick. So I casually asked, that's a cool bag, where did you get that? Macys? For the record, macy's flagship store in midtown actually sells burberrry. But not in the state stores like CT or NJ.
She blew up. Do I look like I shop in Macys. What is wrong with you? I found it in Bergdorf Goodman. But I got a good tongue lashing and my ears were bleeding. Nope, I was laughing inside.
I would've said, to her: "Yes because like me, your using public transportation; instead of driving your Lamborghini or being flown by your private jet!"0 -

So sad how people let designer things define their being and self esteem. Or lack of self esteem.

Flagging me. Passive aggressive comments.
9/10 I go into "fun & games" I'm leaving with a warning, and a bruised ego. I wish I was kidding.

problem is- she has ear gauges. not the biggest but not the smallest either. if she didn't have those I figure she'd have an easier life in a lot of little ways. place i work for, they'd actively pass you over for a thing like that. is it fair? nah not really, but life isn't fair and you don't need to handicap yourself if you can help it at all.
me personally, i don't really care what a person looks like. i think i can be friends with just about anybody as long as they have a sense of humor. but the rest of the world, professionaly speaking at least, they don't care about that and the first thing they do is look at you and try to see how their customers will see you first as well.
I totally agree with you. I recently moved to Albuquerque and I am shocked at the people I see with face tattoos, neck tattoos, noses pierced with a ring like a bull, nostril piercings, Bright Green/Blue/Red hair and these are people in their mid 30's. I often wonder where do you work ? Who's going hire you ? Your definitely not going to get a professional position looking like that. Maybe its a cultural thing ?? IDK ??1 -

To a degree, yes. It depends on what the instance is...if it's the guy working at the corner store, I could care less. If it's the janitor at little one's school, I care. If it's my honey, i do, but I try not to, because I know he just can't help being a geek.1

I have a job! I've had a few, actually- Good ones even. In a spa, an office...
I was actually thinking of the guy I saw the other day that had a warcraft figure tattooed on the side of his face. It measured from his eye to the bottom of his jaw, he was working in the dollar tree. He would have a hard time finding a job at a bank or attorney's office even with the proper credentials and education to back him up.0
