Yes it's easily possible. The only thing though that may restrict your abs from appearing would be excess skin from the weight loss1

I was at 400 a year and a half ago. I am now at 172. I can't see how I could ever have "visible" 6-pack abs. There is sooo much loose skin. But, I am not worried about it as I am extremely more healthy now than before, and I'm not concerned about appearance. But if you are, I can tell you that, at least in my case, there's so much extra skin that it's be impossible without removing the extra skin. My advice...get healthy for YOU - appearance is, literally only skin-deep.1

Without skin removal surgery, I think you should have realistic expectations. Check out ObeseToBeast on Youtube. He's a bodybuilder and despite losing 180 lbs and training pretty hard, he's still got hanging skin on his chest and abdomen, which covers his abs.1

The younger you are the more elasticity your skin will have and respond positively to weight loss. As you age that becomes more of a challenge. If you lose it slowly and steadily you will have a better chance of avoiding the excess skin issue. But you may have some small amount of excess skin in some areas regardless.
But, the health benefits far outweigh the cosmetic ones. Because you can always get skin removal surgery if need be, but you can't have a fat-ectomy surgery (well, kind of, but you know what I mean).1 -
One of my favorite motivational instagram accounts is obese_to_beast. He still has excess skin, but also competes in body building competitions. You can look him up even if you don't have instagram.0
