    Yes. Currently:

BP: I warm up with 10 lbs under, heaviest working set is 30 lbs over, max is prolly about 50 lbs over
OHP: Warm up with 20 lbs under, working sets = body weight, no idea about max
Bent over rows: Working sets with body weight, no idea about max
Squat: too pathetic to mention, but well over body weight
Deadlift: again, too pathertic to mention but well over body weight

    That little guy is strong!

For this lift, in this photo, that is a simple way to be lifted and a challenging way to lift.

I can lift close to, but not yet more than my body weight.

As a dancer people can lift me well. I sometimes have a challenge lifting other people that are not close to my own size (in a graceful, smooth, dancerly way). Although, for the most part, in most lifts, being lifted is more challenging and takes more strength than the person doing the lifting. In a lot of lifts, the person being lifted is using their strength to assist the lifter. It is a joint effort. The one doing the lifting provides stability and lift. The one being lifted is extending more effort in order to support their weight, take the shapes and movements while in an unusual positioning in space and with a human as their source of stability.

I can lift a person heavier than me, when they are wrapped around my waist and I can dance while doing that.

    Yep, on two lifts:

Squat 1RM - 265 (way over bw.....even at my heaviest!)
Deadlift 1RM - 295 (also thankfully way over)

But sadly, not so much on my others:

    Bench 1RM - 115
    OHP 1RM - 100
  • Actually had a 'NSV' this week! I can now squat 70kg for 8-12 reps 3 sets!!! Plus the bar which probably weighs another 15kg I am definitely squatting more than my body weight. Was pleased.
I am also deadlifting 60kg (plus the bar) - I really struggle with the deadlift, makes me all grunty and unfeminine I must say and it's bad enough being the only woman in the weight training area. My arms are much weaker and can only do chest presses at 36kg (18kg in each arm) and a clean and press at 25kg with strange noises and contortions  . I can do overhead presses on the machine to the max weight (82kg).
Alas, been eating like a pig for the past month so all that progress will probably go to pot. And I get really bad DOMS after lifting sessions so I'm currently limited to 2x a week (I'm a cardio junkie so have to fit that in somewhere).

    Like that, no.

    Deadlift: yes.

And I just mentioned this yesterday but in college I used to get drunk and pick people up in a fireman carry. The biggest dude was about 220 (so more than me).

    In just to say

    I love you Justin Long!

And yes, on a couple lifts I can.

Overhead press is not one of them, though.

    Squat: Yes - 1.15 x body weight
    Dead: Yes - 1.57 x body weight
    OHP: No
Bench: could probably hit it with a 1RM, but haven't attempted. Did 1x5 @ 125 (5 lbs less than bodyweight) so I'm not far off.

Back in my high school and college days, this would have been a resounding yes. Ten years of not lifting obviously killed my maxes, but I'm still an easy yes on anything that isn't OHP. I'll have to give it a try the next time I make it to the gym.
