Hi!
I really need some help getting back on the horse. I don't know what I weigh.. My scale is dead. I'm 5'3. Last I check I was 134 or so. I bet I'm at 140..:/ I need a practical diet that really works. I'm interested in low carb- but don't want to do Atkins phase one- ketosis.. I also need advice about workouts. I stay home with my twin toddlers. One is currently sick. Detailed advice is very much appreciated. I also can't do crunches due to my severe diastasis recti.. Thanks so much for helping me!

You are in the right place.
Enter your stats in MFP, aim to lose .5 lbs a week.
Eat all your calories, eat 50-75% of your exercise calories.
Get a digital scale and weigh all your food. Measuring cups and spoons for liquids.
You can eat whatever you wish within your calorie goal.
That takes care of the weight loss.
For the DR talk to your health professional and get a referal to a PT who knows about DR. There are spesific exercises for it and it is best to do these with personal guidance.

when it comes to low carb you have to choose between low carb low fat or law card high fat (keto/atkins diet type). In both cases calories are inportant when it come to be sure that you are not binging on the first weeks latter on these diet are supposed to reduce your appetite once you are used to eating few carbs.0

A practical diet that really works does not require detailed advice:
1) Eat food you like.
2) Hit an appropriate calorie goal.1 -
Hope your little sweetie feel better soon! Do you have a double stroller? Walking is a brilliant way to lose weight. If you are inside, just March in place while the kids play, or dance with them. If you don't need a nap when they do, squeeze in some calisthenics. Do check with your doc about what to do for your stomach and core.
My Fitbit and digital food scale keep me honest. I can't tell you how helpful it is to have an idea of how much energy is going in and out of you, so that you can more accurately balance your calorie checkbook.0
