Need some inspiration. I got sick a few yrs ago and put on 79 pounds. I keep hearing from my Dr's that at my age it's to hard to take it off. Need some positive input. Thank you.

I am 65 years old and have been retired for eight years. I started on MFP in late January and have lost 23 pounds so far. I use a food scale religiously when I am home. It is coming off slowly, but at least the scale is going in the right direction for the first tme in years. Good luck!9

Doctors can be such a drag Just get active. Revert to the younger you..which means you went out more and moved more. Do that and log your food here.. you'll lose the weight.. it can be done. You can do it!4

I was 376# and age 65 when I joined WW in Jan 2013. I thought it would come off fast and easy because I had done it before BUT no it came off slowly. I lost 100# over 14 months, then coasted on my accomplishment and lost only 16# in 2015. This Jan I started to TRY and made a pound a week my goal. So for over 32 weeks I have lost 32 pounds.
It can be done but it ain't easy.
SW 376 age 65
CW 236 age 68, lost -140#
GW 186 (date unknown
My next two mini milestones are to reach 224 since I started at 24 pounds shy of 400! I want to be ONLY 24 pounds away from 200.
The ONEDERLAND and beyond.
With the excess skin I may not get to 186 but my Dr said she will discuss setting a realistic GW with me and WW. I KNOW Ihave truly changed my Lifestyle and will NEVER go back.

My dad is 65. He lost 40 pounds in 3 months by replacing fast food with with better choices within his calorie limit. He went from 210 pounds to 170.
He also walks briskly 30 min a day.
He eats:
Oatmeal, fruits, veggies, grilled salmon, grilled chicken, chickpeas, lentils, nuts, dark chocolate.
His cholesterol went from dangerous to normal in few months naturally.4 -
I'm 65 and stuck at only 10-15 lbs over goal (I did hit that weight once!) for the last couple YEARS. I previously lost 50 lbs using WW's and some MFP tracking. These posts are encouraging and inspiring! Thanks for posting, everyone!2

66 here and lost about that same amount in weight.....LOL. I didn't find it difficult at all. Just increased my activity and decreased my calories. Lots of new habits and I'm feeling great.
You can do it too!2 -
I am 69, 6ft tall and lost 115 lbs over the past year reaching my goal last month of 150 lbs going down from 265 lbs. Don't let anyone tell you it can't be done. It is hard and takes determination. Exercise was the key for me. Good luck, you can do it.2

Exercise. Any kind of exercise; I hike. Eat fewer calories than you burn. I’ve found MFP and my FitBit help me keep on track. Keep at it. It gets easier at it becomes a habit!2
