Car Question

I'm looking at a new job that requires a bit of city driving and I'm thinking about buying a Toyota Prius.
Question: If I buy the Prius, will I need to take testosterone supplements?
..... also, does anyone (outside of Southern California) really care what anyone else drives?
Is their personal vehicle a reflection of their persona, or is it just, you know... a car?
Discuss; please & thank you.

Testosterone supplements won't help, just turn in your man card and get it over with4

yeah... it seems to be a trade off
my man card for really great mileage and diamond lane privileges.
(it's using the carpool lane that is the huge appeal)
Would a Marine Corps or a NRA bumper sticker help?0 -

Man card vs. diamond lane privileges, that is a close one particular here in Phoenix0 -

It could be worse. It could be a Volkswagon Beetle in pink.1

wait.
a Vagina on Wheels? That sounds rather..... convenient.
I'm now confused; are you trying to dissuade or convince me to buy one?

Motorcycles are allowed in diamond lanes, and you get better gas millage, and keep your man card.4

That sounds great, except I'll need to haul gear around town. My counterparts drive F-150s (as I too have in the past). They're just not allowed in the diamond lane. (bummer)

yeah, you know the turf...
North Scottsdale to past Cardinal's Stadium
Thru downtown and then around town into the East Valley during the day.
The diamond lane could save me up to an hour of windshield time.

Not every hybrid gets to use the carpool lane, here in AZ, though. You have to have that Clean Air – Blue Skies plate. Otherwise you need to have a passenger.
Thank you, I really appreciate you mentioning the blue skies plate; yeah... that's what I read on ADOT's webpage too.
Without the HOV lane privilege, there's no reason to drive a hybrid. Imho1 -

We have a Tesla dealer here in town. I visited them in person and asked them two easy questions; they were:
How many miles can I drive into Mexico on one charge?
and
How many Kilos fit into the trunk?
.... they weren't as easily amused as one might hope.1 -
move to maryland buy a subaru, join the MDSubaruClub and come to some meets

Only the Prius, Civic Hybrid and Insight qualify for that plate in AZ. Tesla would be the only one I'd drive. And I would never get full-range out of it because I'd be launching it in Insane Mode every chance I got.
Thanks, that is very good to know. The Tesla is nails.
Love'em... I'm just not going to drop that kind of coin on a sled so I can bump around town and sell chit.
and yeah, Insane Mode is well... insane

I love priuses (what's the plural of prius? Prii?) But I also like spending no more than $20 a month on gas.0

Or... get a Hummer and just take over the diamond lane and use every Prius you came across as a practice mogul course. You would help get the, ahem, lose-your-man-card-cars off the road and reduce the smug (not to be confused with smog) in the city.0

The Volt was a much better driving car IMHO. And should still get you diamond lane privileges. They have been quite reasonably priced in the used market.0

BMW i3...BMW salesman told me they are giving some crazy incentives with the purchase right now. I see them more than Prius here.0
