9/1 - 4 miles. Weather was beautiful! Had to cut it short because I hit snooze too many times.
9/2 - Unplanned rest day. Apparently yesterday's snoozing was due to impending illness. First virus of the new school year.
9/3 - 8.09 mile group run. Again, beautiful weather! Plus, virus seems gone.
9/4 - Normal rest day. Way overate at family picnic.
    9/5 - 5.06 miles.
9/6 - Bodypump class, followed by Abs/Core class.
9/7 - 4.03 hot, humid, sticky miles...summer is not over yet!
    9/8 - 5.2 miles at Trek/treadmill class.
9/9 - Managed to turn off my alarm and oversleep by 2 hours = no run or spin class :-1:
9/10 - 9.4 mile group run. Another gorgeous morning for a run!
    9/11 - Insanely busy church/family activity day.
9/12 - 4.7 miles. Getting spoiled by this weather.
9/13 - Life got in the way.
9/14 - 5.08 miles...seriously, this weather is fantastic for running!
9/15 - 4.06 miles. Legs felt like bags of wet sand.
9/16 - Spin Class. Missed it the last two weeks, so it felt difficult in a good way.
9/17 - 3.33 miles. Short run before race tomorrow.
9/18 - 10.15 miles. Capital Pursuit 10-Mile. Love this race! "Serious" runners for the most part, so it tends to be fast. Weather was beautiful, if a bit hot the last two miles. Time about what I expected based on my training level the last few months. Loved it!
9/19 - Rest day. Very sore.
    9/20 - 5.05 miles. Beautiful morning.
9/21 - 4.02 humid, sticky miles. Someone forgot to tell Mother Nature that summer's over!
    9/22 - 5.02 miles. First day of fall...77° and humid at 5:00 a.m.!

Just dropping by to say, "Happy Fall, Y'all!" Although, we're still getting a high today in the 90's, so not so much Fall Weather. Yet.

Your not alone. We're still hanging about the 100° mark.

I have a feeling that my September goal will not be met like last month. I will do my best to kick its butt in October though.

This week has been awful for me. The gist is that I have chronic pain 24/7 in regards to the female monthly visitor, and when it visits, it becomes so much worse. This week has been gut-wrenching, in the most literal way imaginable. Today seems to be a bit better, for which I'm thankful, but I'm taking a break from all forms of exercise until I feel more normal. I have the obstacle course on Saturday, and I'll be taking it easy there. I hope to be back to running on Monday. Only 7 more weeks until my surgery to remove all this painful crap from my body.

I truly hope you are all having a better day!

81/100 miles for the month. In Vegas next week and I'm determined not to let my mileage slip. I will be running on the treadmill and along the strip. On the plus side I've got a four mile walk to and from the Convention center and my hotel so lots of good on the feet time.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm actually in southern NY, Rockland County, so that's about 4 hours away, so maybe a tad far! Lol.

weather forecast changed for Saturday. Now looking like it'll be 50F and cloudy with like 5-9mph SE winds. This should be good. The route kind of zig-zags, so there won't be much time where I'm heading directly into the wind.

    https://www.strava.com/routes/4627230

That's a horrendous place to put a 100 vertical feet of climb to the finish line.

Happy Fall from me too! We're looking at a high of 89. Much better than the past few days :D The good news is I see a low of 48 Monday night! WHAT?! Lots of rain coming too though so hopefully that's not a problem. I've run in cold rain before but it seems we rarely get a run-able rain. It has to storm and flood. LOL

Plan is to run tomorrow morning early but I've had the worst time waking up the past two mornings so wish me luck. Still taking it easy and spacing out my runs so hopefully this knee thing will be gone for good and not continue into October. I'm so ready for a good month of steady running.

@RespectTheKitty Nice job on the 5.3 miles :)
    @sparklyglitterbomb Bunnies=cute Coyote=scary!
@skippygirlsmom Glad you could get in 6 miles and that was sweet of your boss :)

9/1: 4.1 miles / Treadmill Run in Afghanistan
9/4: 7 miles / Track run in Afghanistan
9/5: 5 miles / Track run in Afghanistan while listening to an outgoing rocket blast. (Outgoing=good / Incoming=Bad)
9/8: 5 miles / Track run in Afghanistan
9/9: 8 miles / Track run in Afghanistan
9/10: 4 miles / Track run in Afghanistan
9/11: No running: Left Afghanistan and it was weird to have the 9/11 date stamp by my Afghanistan visa on my passport.
9/12: 6.45 miles / Treadmill run in Dubai (Way too hot to do anything outside other than lie on the beach under an umbrella, which is what I did most of the day)
9/13: Arrived back home to Texas!! Slept, slept, and slept some more
9/14: 12 miles / Run in the park breathing clean air
9/15: 3.1 miles and Body Pump / Happy 15 year wedding anniversary to me and Hubby!
    9/16: 5 miles
    9/17: Rest Day
9/18: 13.1 miles / Half Marathon training to test 30 seconds slower than goal pace. Ran with an 8:40 average pace with plenty of room to spare. Started in the dark on a paved trail around a lake with a headlamp and bugs flying at my head and lots of wind and a few spider webs. Then the sun came out so I put my visor on (thanks to my trusty hydration belt for giving me a strap to tuck that into), then it rained, then it sunned, rained, and back to sunny. Very happy with my pace, hydration, and Sport Beans.
9/19: 4 miles / Hot and humid before work - No breeze, and no one had their sprinklers on.
9/20: Body Pump Class and 20 minutes of Elliptical
9/21: 3 miles in the morning, Yoga in the evening
9/22: 4.39 miles (Warm up, 10x 400m intervals with 1 minute recovery between, cool down)

    80.14 miles for September

    2016 Races:

    Buffalo Boogie (5K) May 7 – 23:42
    Marine Creek Trailhead Trot (5K) May 14 – 22:00
    Joe’s Run (10K) June 4 – 48:04
    Firecracker 5000 (5K) July 4 – 22:51
XTERRA Jurassic Trail Run (15K at Night) July 16 – 1:32:05
Clark Gardens I’m Only Half Crazy Half Marathon/5K (HM) Oct 1
BMW Dallas Marathon (HM) Dec 11

Happy Fall y’all! It was actually not hot and humid on my run this morning. If I would have encountered a sprinkler, I would have run past it instead of through it...at least at the beginning of my run. ;)

Although I LOVE pumpkin pie and pretty much any pumpkin baked goods, I normally don’t like pumpkin flavored foods. However, I tried the Dannon Light and Fit Greek pumpkin flavored yogurt yesterday, and it was really good. Even my 8 year old son liked it. Hope the pumpkin lovers out there enjoy all the pumpkin treats this time of year!!

Since a protein is 4 cals that means 12*4 = 48. That thing has 60% of it's cals from protein

It probably has some chemicals in it that are bad, but it tastes great, has a lot of protein and is low in calories. My pre-long run and pre-race breakfast usually consists of an English Muffin with honey and one of these yogurts. Strawberry Cheesecake is my favorite flavor, but I'll definitely be getting more of the pumpkin pie while it lasts.

Hi guys! Seems like everyone has been pretty active the last week or so! I've been going through a bit of a funk the last week and haven't been around much. Still been biking and swimming like a madwoman though! I swam 3km (continuous! Not a single stop!) on monday and have done at least an hour on the bike every day this week too. Also, I bought an exercise bike today because I figured if I'm biking this much, I should at least be able to do it at home in front of the tv  I'm seeing the orthopedic doctor again tomorrow for my four week follow up, and I'm really hoping he will say I can start running again! I haven't had any sharp, localized pain in over a week now. Just some random bouts of aches that don't seem to be triggered by anything, so I'm hoping that's a normal part of the bone healing process. Hopefully he won't tell me to take more time off; it's been 6 weeks now and that's about as much as I can handle! Plus I'm missing all the best running weather and my favorite races :disappointed:

Yeah, that's my only worry for making my pace goal, and I've worked my *kitten* off to get to where I think it is doable. On the plus side, I've run the route, so I have seen the lay of the land. Also, recorded elevation is different from the data when I mapped it out online. Strava data has total elevation at almost 150 feet less, but Garmin says it's only 50 less. Not sure which of the three to trust more than the others.

    9/10....4 miles
    9/11...9 miles.
    9/14....4 miles
9/16....4.07 miles....rolling hills program on the treadmill, pace at 11:06.
9/18....12 miles. The first 6 miles in 67 minutes, the next 6 in 80 minutes, including 3 one minute walking breaks, starting on mile 8.
    9/22...4 miles. pace at 11:30.

total is 53.07 miles. Goal is 70 miles.

    Indianapolis Half Marathon 10/8/16
    One America Half Marathon 5/6/17

Worked all night. Only 50 minutes sleep. Then errands. I tried to sprint the run, but really struggled at getting my heart rate above 88%. I ran more relaxed than last Sunday...but couldn't keep up the pace that I wanted...kept settling in a comfortable pace. First mile at 10:20, the second at 12:30. No other runners on the trail..very hot today...little humidity. My hips were a little sore, not during the run, but afterward.

Still need to get new shoes. Plan to purchase them tomorrow. Another short run planned for tomorrow. Then a long run on Sunday.

and also I took pictures of myself for instagram because I'm a millenial and that's how I roll ;)

From everyone's comments about the photo, I was tempted to download the photo and add a Nike Swoosh and some witty phrase like, "That's how I roll!" and re-upload it. But I opted out because it seemed like too much work.

@greenolivetree I used to powerlift pretty seriously until December. Until I discovered running that is.
@Stoshew71 I stayed behind him for more than half the race. I like to run behind people. And he was just at my pace. Mad props to him though he was pretty fast. He was like "you can pass me if you want" and I was like "nah I like it here don't worry". I know I don't feel too great when people are chasing me and use me as a rabbit
@ereck44 I did passed him when we hit the last mile that was full asphalt. We weren't in the same age group so no hard feelings.

@Ohhim Thanks! And how high will it drift in your half, if it starts at 168? I have been struggling with how I can interpret drift in a race compared to drift in training, which is why I'm bugging you o:)

Been almost a year since my last half (in fact, the 2nd half of my last marathon was faster than my fastest half), but my average heart rates by mile were: 140 (warmed up to 170), 168, 169, 170, 169, 167, 169, 170, 172, 172, 174, 174, 176, then 179 for my last 0.2.

My legs felt better tonight than they did this morning, but I can still tell that they're toast. But hey, if my training model is "fatigue," then I'm doing something right... right? ;)
