I admit though. I may was my hair once or twice per week but I'm not really that sweaty. I don't do cardio.0

I use cocoa powder in my hair during the week when it gets a little oily. It doesn't show the white residue like dry shampoo and doesn't dry out the hair.
I wouldn't have thought of using cocoa powder. You must smell nice, too!
There are colored dry shampoos out there, too. Before I lightened my hair I had one specifically for brunettes.0 -

Yes but the cocoa powder is just...cocoa. It's awesome. Doesn't dry out the scalp at all. When I tried it the first time I couldn't believe how NICE my hair actually looked. My friends who have a bit lighter color hair add baby powder or baking soda to the cocoa powder.
It does smell nice. Sometimes when I start getting a little hot/sweaty I can smell the cocoa lol.2 -
Usually I wash my hair. Don't wash for two days. Then wash. Sometimes I go one day, and sometimes three days. But, usually two days.0

I haven't for about 12 years. Can't say I'm any the worse for wear, either.11

Pretty much nearly every day. I've dry hair, that's wavy, but I straighten it. After sleeping on it, it looks horrible and doesn't restraighten nicely, so I wash. I tried the conditioner only thing, but just didn't feel clean or straighten well. I can't see me changing now.1

every two or three days usually. I would wash it everyday but ive also been told its bad for it.

I wash mine at least once a day for the most part, with cheap shampoo. Just got my haircut last week and the only comment I got was that my hair was so soft and silky she was jealous.0
-
I wash mine every 4 days. Dry shampoo is your friend.0

A couple times a week. Hair washing mostly to coincide with pool days. If I swim and my hair gets completely wet I will wash with a special shampoo to help remove the chlorine. Aquasize days just keep it up in a hat and don't get wet, then may or may not wash it depending on how long it's been since last time.
I'm intrigued by the cocoa as dry shampoo idea. Seems like it could get pretty messy during the application. How does it go on? With a spoon? or some other method? Is there a special trick?1 -

I put a little in this tiny jar and use a big blush brush to dip in. I dab it on the scalp near the crown of my head/bangs first because that's where I'm the most oily. Then I take my fingers and basically "wash" my hair the same way I would in the shower then brush it through.2 -
I'm trying to pull away from everyday. So it's around every other day, with me trying to push it out longer. Right now, it works since I'm not going out, so it's a good time to re-train my hair.0

I wash my hair every 2nd day. I use a good sulfate free shampoo as my hair is coloured. Doesn't dry it out1
-
2 or 3 times a week.
Washing it everyday and if you blow dry too, strips your hair of natural oils.
If it's really sweaty after a workout sometimes a quick blow dry it like for one minute then put baby powder throughout my hair and brush it... Keeps it dry and smelling fresh.
YouTube "baby powder for hair" really interesting videos.
Some dry shampoo can be expensive, I prefer baby powder but not too much so it's white.0 -
I wash my hair everyday with conditioner. 1-2 times a week I wash my hair with shampoo. My hair is no longer dry and I barely get any split ends! Cowashing is great!1
-
Daily. I've tried to cut back and my hair looked horrible.
Dry shampoo would make my hair look worse.

I wet/rinse my hair in the shower everyday. I shampoo and condition once a week, and use a conditioner only, every 3rd day.
ETA: My hair looks terrible after i wash it, it goes all boofy and gets way too soft to do anything with. If i shampooed everyday I'd be stuck with boofy hair 7 days a week as well as it becoming dry as straw.3 -
Yeah, it takes too much time, have to wait for it to dry, and it goes all boofy (as mentioned above). Needs time to relax after a shower. And less frequent hair washing makes my hair silkier and healthy. I do shower everyday, though.1

Every morning before work. Wash and go, it's dry by the time I get to the office. No qualms about washing it more than once a day if I do something sweaty, after working under the car, whenever. Never have a problem with dry hair, but I also don't use any products or coloring in it, and said good bye to the blow drier in 1987.1

Before I started coloring my hair, I washed it every day because if I didn't it would be a greasy mess. My hair gets that oily. Now that I color my hair, I wash it every other day. It helps that my hair is now really short. If I was the sort who does a "strenuous" workout every day I would still be washing it every day despite coloring, but I'm not.
As you've probably guessed from all these comments, this is one of those things that is NOT "one size fits all."0 -
Male response:- I shower twice a day, and my hair is included every time.2
-
I don't color or blow dry my hair either. My hair has a lot of white and it's wavy. I'm growing out from a pixie cut, so not trimming it much. And I don't use silicones in my conditioner. Silicones will make my hair very silky, but it builds up. So, I let my natural hair oil do that instead.0

Shampoo 1-2x weekly, WO (water only) or CO (conditioner only) other times.0

I have hip-length hair and I wash it 5-6 days a week. I usually skip it on a Saturday morning and will sometimes skip it on a Sunday morning too.
When I don't wash it, it becomes dull and flat and greasy and horrible. The reason I can skip it on the weekends is because I wear it tightly back in a braid, and it doesn't need to be fluffy.
But by Monday morning it looks like I've dunked the top of my head in a vat of oil. I do a double shampoo on Mondays.2 -
So I just went about four days without washing it after reading this article..
https://www.fitnessblender.com/articles/natural-easy-lazy-girl-hair-care-how-to-get-healthy-hair-naturally
I rinsed in between washes - and it was time to wash it when I did - but it didn't smell or look dirty, probably partly because I kept it pulled back. Anyway, fitness blender workouts are so effective that I trust her advice here too, so I'm planning to try it for a while. It's officially been almost six days with only one wash and no products except coconut oil before the wash for deep conditioning. I'm liking it so far.0 -
Once or twice a week, but mostly once. My hair is long, curley and can get dry and fragile if I wash more often. When I absolutely have to wash more often, I just wash it with conditioner no shampoo. I almost always have it in a braid, so it doesn't really look any worse after sweating.1
-
I didn't read through all the comments so I'm sorry if this has already been mentioned, but what is your hair type? I have curly hair that is naturally on the dry side so I only shampoo at most two to three times a week. If I'm feeling extra grungy I will rinse it in the shower and then use conditioner on my scalp and throughout my hair. This works for me because I have a lot of volume and dryness in my hair, but for someone with thinner hair I could see that making it look too flat.
I also second the comments that mentioned using a dry shampoo. If you don't have that, a sprinkle of baby powder can be used in a pinch as well.1 -
Wash with shampoo/condition combo every other day after I workout. I also use a hair dryer, then dampen it a little to bring back some curl and add mousse. The hair dressers I go to comment on my great hair.0

I wash usually twice a week, occasionally more if I've done something to make it gross (usually, that involves trying a new styling product I hate and having to "start over."). I actually prefer my hair on the dirty side, as it is far more manageable. My hair is short, straight, and very soft and fluffy and it is nearly impossible to do anything with when it is slick and clean. Water alone is plenty to rinse sweat out, I find. I am also not a terribly sweaty person, though (like, I don't sweat enough for what I do).
In full disclosure, I am careful about how much soap I use, period. I have very dry skin that can be very sensitive. There are some days that I really just get in the shower to rinse and won't use soap (today is not one of those days, as I've walked the dogs two miles, ran for 4, and am about to go ride my horse!). But, again, where some people sweat in excess, I barely break a sweat.0 -
Curly/Wavy, usually between shoulder and bra strap length. I wash 2 or 3 times a week. I ponytail to exercise and either let it back down or keep it up for work, it doesn't stink. Sometimes I rinse and restyle with some conditioner, but usually just put it up. Isn't that what a ponytail is for?
It takes too long to dry for me to wash everyday. If i wash in the morning AND blow dry some, with diffuser, it's dry before lunch.0
