I lift 3-4 days a week along with my running. I'm no power lifter or strongman but I lift as heavy as my small 147 lb body allows me

I'm not sure what the bars are rated at, but I deadlifted 475 today for sets of 4, 4, 10 reps. I don't think they're cheap bars, just average power bar stiff.

We had 55 lb. bars back in the day rated not to bend til 1000 lbs. 45 lb bar will bend in the rack with 500 lbs.

I am a former powerlifter/strongman. I quit due to injuries and now am competing in bjj. I am down about 85lbs bodyweight and have lost a lot of muscle and strength but I still have around a 1650 raw total though.

Zilla you're way ahead of me on powerlifting. I'm 53 and have a score of about 1200, which in powerlifting terms makes me a beginner. I'm hoping to increase that score by about 100 in the next year. For me powerlifting is a supporting activity for martial arts, with my interests running along the lines of Muay Thai (advanced) and BJJ (beginner).

2 years ago I totaled 1408lbs at 250lbs fat. Now I'm half as strong but 230lbs at around 13-14% bodyfat. Fairly big compared to average.
