This picture was everywhere this past summer. I'd stop at the Cascadia Farms stand and see it. It's a great shot!
Probably don't have to tell you this is from the North Cascades.

second favorite post of the day.. sorry the waffles on the previous page got to me..lol2 -
It's not even my picture so please don't worry about hurting my feelings lol. But it made me happy. All of a sudden I saw that picture everywhere I went last summer. This is the North Cascades. It's not a part I've visited, but it's typical of the high country there, it's a lot of what I love about the place. And then the guy looks so happy. I had forgotten it and it came up in a search for a lake I need to visit, and I got all nostalgic.
Love your new avatar by the way.2 -

I mostly grew up in a small town in Connecticut, in farm country. One of my best friends was very devout and innocent. She came out to visit a few years ago, and we drove around to the best parts of the Northwest. The pic below is from the end of a trail in the North Cascades, it starts in a campground we stayed at. Below is Diablo Lake, and the trail goes to the top of this stone "hill" near Thunder Creek. Local naming "rules" make that the Thunder Knob. My friend was too embarrassed to say it, so I played coy and made her explain why it's dirty.

I bet all of you are looking at that picture, thinking you want some North Cascades Thunder Knob.1

Also I posted on my time line so my friends saw already, but I think I commented on here a couple weeks ago about how I've been unemployed for 4 months.
I start my new job next week! This is such a huge weight off of me! I know there were some on here who had posted some supportive things to me and I wanted to update y'all.
I just saw this! Congrats! Was it the no pants interview that did it??2 -

It's probably 15 miles one way. But the trail ends in the meadow, most of the nearby ones go somewhere else. And people just wind up doing loops and other things instead.
It's been on my list for years. Maybe this coming summer.1 -
