I'm really not sure what you're taking me to say. I was offering a scenario explaining how it's possible for someone's thyroid to be unstable for a length of time. Nothing else.
You are putting words in my mouth.
There are two possible explanations for her thyroid to be undercorrected. I addressed one in my post to her, if you read it. The one is that she's seeing a GP who treats lab numbers, not symptoms. The other is that she has Hashi's and is in an unstable spell.

That's what MFP believes your NEAT level is, that's your BMR and all your daily activity but not including exercise. If you wanted to lose 1 lb/week you would subtract 500 cals/day from that. The caveat is that MFP won't go below 1200 cal target for women, so if your NEAT is 1500 (which that would be very low), the system will try to subtract 500 but will set you at 1200 anyway.
Do you mean TDEE?
I was just trying to help her figure out why MFP is giving her 1200 regardless of what goal she puts in. Yes with what I described above she would need to eat back exercise cals as it is the NEAT method. I was just trying to understand what the system thinks her baseline is.
Yeah, something's not right somewhere, because I just ran her stats through Scooby's site and her TDEE to maintain at sedentary should be around 1950.
OP, have you double checked your height and weight inputs on your settings?
There actually maybe be some type of error with the system. I put in maintain weight and it's still giving me 1200 calories and then it says projected weight loss 1.5/week although I have been changing it.0 -
Yep I tried changing all the setting including the activity levels and goal all 1200 calorie net. It's more than likely some type of error with the system.0

I even tried entering gaining weight still the same thing. I contacted MFP.1

It's an error. I created a new profile quickly and at 1lb per wk & it's 1,430 Calories at both 2 or 1.5lbs it's 1200 Calorie goal. This profile for some reason is stuck at 1.5 as my goal.0 -
Ah! Hopefully they'll get you sorted! You should be able to eat around 1400 calories and lose a pound a week.0

Thank you. Can I increase exercise as long as I net at least 1200 calories?0 -

You sure can!0 -
Thanks everyone for the advice.
I am currently 179 exactly as of today. So I've lost about 5lbs in about 3 weeks. Is this weight lost at an okay rate?
Since starting my journey. I'm down about an inch and a half in the waist, 2 inches in bust WHICH IS NUTS, and a little under an inch in my hips. I dropped a dress size/top size mainly because of the bust. I've always been the person that sees more results in measurements than the scale which is both satisfying as well as dissatisfying at the same time in a sense. I guess that's I why I was questioning what I was doing.
