lame, but.... the L Hold on two plates. As a former gymnast and weight lifter, i want to be able to do more and more bodyweight holds which are considered "advanced". For example, i would love to be able to do an iron cross, but i've been told this takes in the 3-4 year range to accomplish.

Presuming that's like Iron X? Yeah that's a long one to master but a great aim!!

I can do a human flag, but not with feet apart.
I would say an iron cross is more difficult than an iron x as you use an unstable surface (rings which want to move right out from underneath you). Here's an awesome video of someone learning one!

oh yeah, PS i can barely do anything on the rings. Because, like is said, they literally want to go right out from underneath you with everything you do.4 -
I felt pretty badass when I was able to do a 3 plate deadlift for the first time.13

Weighed dips with 45lbs on rings, 135x5 on reg weighted dips. 135x1 weighted pull up. Dumbbell hammer curls with 100s. 315x25 deadlift burnout set.

My "greatest feat of strength" isn't my heaviest one. It was the day I managed to bench press 225 for the first time. I've since blown past that number (current 1RM 285) but that first time putting a second plate on each side will forever stick in my memory as a GOOD DAY.18

Oh that's a good one.
When I was in high school, I took weightlifting instead of regular gym class. It was pretty much me and the hockey team. I was very thin and not strong at all (had never trained for it.) I can remember the gym teacher saying that our grade would be based on how much we improved over the semester so he wanted to test our bench press maxes. And then he said "Jemhh, come over here and do yours first because you'll max out right away and then you can write down everybody else's numbers." Now, many years later, every time I hit a new weight or rep max I think of that day and give myself a pat on the back.18 -
When I first came to university the gym used plates in kilos not pounds. So I was going for a max squat that I new was a little above 315. In my head I'm thinking okay 20 kilos 45lbs and was doing great till 225. Then my head switched back to pounds. I was counting kilos as pounds up to around 290 "pounds" so I was actually squating in the ball park of 330-340lbs by accident. All while being pissed I couldent hit 315 lol9

Not a lifter....but I once carried 85-120 pounds around NYC for 13 hours (8pm-9am) straight while not being allowed to eat anything. Also had to do a couple hours of PT in there with about 40 pounds.2

20 rep squat of 275...hitting 4 plates on DL for the first time...
If I ever get to 225 for 5+reps on bench I'll be thrilled! such a weak upper body4 -
As a person who didn't do any sports until about a year ago I have to say that my greatest feat of strength was when I finally hit my goal and was able to do my first pull up few months back. Now I'm doing a lot more and I can hold an Iron X for almost a second lol...
But for me, the biggest victory was to drop enough weight, yet be strong enough to do that 1 pull up. It took me about 6 months to reach that goal and it's something I was over the moon about.14 -
My first 300 lb dead lift (just a couple weeks ago). Watch out, 315!!!

315 In no time!1 -
505 on the bench, got done, stood up, looked back at the bar and it was bending in the rack. 5X5X405 was great, 405 on incline was another. At 270 lbs BW10

I have a lot. The most visible was at a local strongman competition at a fair. I pulled 425 off boxes below the knee for a single. One other woman pulled more than me. It was funny though because my real estate agent at the time who is also a musician was playing at the event and he was all dewy eyed and impressed. The picture is from the event and was taken by organizers but only shows it at 315 or 335.
I was more excited though when I pulled 320 from the floor in competition. It was my biggest deadlift at 125.

Ask on Festivus and I'll show you4

You all rock. One of these days, I want to be strong like you guys.
My goal is a 200lb deadlift by the end of 2016.
50lbs to go!10 -
Sets of 7-8 weighted pull-ups with a 45 lb dumbbell between my ankles... sets of 8-9 weighted dips with a 45 lb dumbbell between my ankles. I haven't tried for a 1 x maximum on either yet.2

Aww shucks you guys, I will never lift like you, but have just skipped home from the gym after reaching a goal.
I deadlifted 105 lbs. it was just 1, but I did it! Just over my bodyweight.
I get so excited with all these little accomplishments- very fortuitous that this post was here so I could share it. I was bursting to tell someone.
Cheers, h.21 -

Those are the best. They aren't little accomplishments either. Congratulations.2 -

I refrain from hurting parents who put their own desires above their children's basic needs and blame everyone but themselves
Being able to squat 3 sets of 75kg (165lbs) x 8 helps me retain my sanity and not punch people7 -
When I was able to do dips unassisted... (I was only able to do 3)....but I was soooooooooooo proud of myself....5

bench pressing a 55lbs on each side...6

Physical strength, or internal strength?3

the greatest feat of strength was more of a journey to overcome the pain, after breaking and dislocating my right wrist which was screwed back together and also having a fractured elbow it was difficult to curl a broomstick.
after working my way through the range of motion with light weights , I joined the gym and convinced myself I would succeed in benching and curling more then I ever had in the past. it took some time to get there
but at my peak fitness level I had benched over 375lbs and was curling over 150lbs.
I will get there again .. see you at the gym!3 -

Impressive! Congrats! Looks like we have some very strong women on MFP.
I just did a 300 1RM DL and 225 1RM SQT but I've only been "training" for 5 months. My other excuses are that I'm a 66 year old male weakling at 165 and am still on a deficit diet.
So, I should still have some upside potential. LOL!
