Impossible. No matter what the person's weight or the intensity of the exercise. It's shady marketing.5
-
Total woo. Few people even burn 5000 calories in a day.3
-
Maybe they put a feast in front of you and make you torch it.12
-
You could buy two sticks of butter, squish them together and light them on fire. Although to be honest that would probably still take more than 30 minutes to burn.3
-
Hahaha - not even 500 calories in 30 minutes! Ridiculous. That is a little more than double what I burn in an entire day.0

More like one and a half pounds of butter (6 sticks or so).... But yeah... Ridiculous claim is ridiculous

I will admit I have no idea how much a stick of butter weighs...I don't do a lot of baking.0 -
yeah, i thought it was hogwash. i should try calling the number just to see what it is. although i'm sure i'd have to pay before hearing the magical secret.0

Wow what program is this?0
-
i cant remember the name of it. next time i hear the ad, i will try to remember the name and number...0
-
Nope, not possible, no way, no how.0
-
Not to be morbid but I've heard that burn victims have exceedingly high TDEEs due to the tissue damage and the bodies attempt to repair and recover.0

Hahaha I thought from the title of your post that it was some sort of a challenge to eat 5000 calories in 30 minutes. Yeah, I could do that
But burn em off? No way!7 -

Of course not. They are obviously trying to sell their product to a target audience: people who are desperate for weight loss.

It just depends on who is doing what. It certainly isn't impossible and it is certainly a more likely number than 5000.0 -
More likely than 5000 for sure and maybe possible but not really possible for the average person1
-
i thought this was going to be "i ate 5000 calories in 30 minutes"
i would die
but anyway yea that is nuts0 -
Nah, eating 5000 in 30 minutes is pretty easy. Binges of that size take a lot less time than that1

Absolutely possible and more really. I do agree the average person won't burn that many during a typical workout, though. Of course, the obvious reason I picked 500 is because it is 1 zero less.0 -
I can consume 5000 calories in 30 minutes easy.

There is list from harvard in the link above. It only goes up to a 185 pound person but even at that weight, one of the activities is jogging.0
