34 pounds lost in a month, am I dieting correctly?

I will also agree that the Garmin numbers seem fine. I suspect that those finding them "too high" are either (a) small, (b) less active than you or (c) both. My husband is about your size (30 pounds heavier) and if he gets any reasonable amount of physical activity (i.e. if he gets 10,000+ steps), he burns in the ballpark of 3500-4000 calories/day. If I get 20,000+ steps, I burn in the ballpark of 3000 calories/day - and I'm 30 pounds lighter than you. The numbers can be "checked" by looking at calorie intake and weightloss. Mine hold up. My husband doesn't count calories, so his can't be checked. Based on losing 34 pounds in a month, your numbers hold up.
You need to eat more. Even if we assume 15 pounds of lost water weight, that would still leave 19 pounds of body mass lost in a month. There's no way that's all fat. Losing at that rate, you're losing muscle too. Look into calorie dense foods like nuts, nut butters, avocados, cheese or chocolate if you don't want to eat much more volume of food.0
