Ah yes. That's why when I always say Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome when discussing AIDS, because just saying "aids" would be weird.
I'm an outlier, I guess. I always pronounce it ky-koh. Just what my brain wants to turn it into for whatever reason.
But "aids" is already a word.0 -

BTW, in case anyone really believes there's a right or wrong way to "hear" a newish acronym in your head, that's not what I'm saying. No right or wrong here; as far as I know there is no universally accepted way to pronounce those letters internally or audibly.

I say it like "See-ko"
Whoa! I've always thought "K.eye - Ko"/Kai-Ko.... for all them Sailor Moon fans, like Minako's (Mina/Sailor Venus) last name "Aiko" but with a K at the front lol.
Which means I'm different from everyone.
But I think I say "Kai" instead since it's similar to "Cal" from calories??? Maybe?
And I simply don't say it out loud. Because I don't talk to people about it (sad face)
