Ideal fast for weight loss? Or even if it's truly necessary or a hoax?

fasting isn't necessary of course. whats necessary is a calorie deficit. Many people like to fast for a variety of reasons.
whats "ideal" for you is whatever you need to do to consistently stay in your calorie deficit.3 -
I did it for a colonoscopy twice, it totally sucks. I hated life!2

Only a calorie deficit is required to lose weight. For some, myself included, it can be a good way to control hunger.
I eat under 590 calories two days out of the week, meaning I can eat my maintenance calories the other five days while losing. Makes eating higher calorie meals nicer, especially on the weekend.
Others will eat at certain windows, the most known probably being 16 hours of fasting with an eight hour eating window.

The latest I've gone without eating was around 8 or 9. I wasn't aloud to eat for a while at the hospital and was pretty miserable. Considering I waited until 7 last Wednesday, I assume it's more because of everything a car accident entails rather than waiting to eat.0
