If you have had the patience to do this for a year, why the big rush now to lose faster? You've been very successful. When something is working, why do you want to mess with that?

exactly. what's the trigger? beach trip? vacation? something like that?

You don't realize it right now, because you're young, but your health is the greatest thing you can ever have. Just, no.

Taking a diuretic with a diet pill is not safe.

    Ditch the diet pills.

Do you want to be healthy or skinny?

Sure your friend lost the weight on the pills but she will not keep it off. Taking diet pills have serious risks.

Learn to relax and give things time. Don't expect results quickly. If you want quick results than you will have to risk your health and life.

(I have done the bad thing and not read the entire thread before posting)

I heard a very interesting bit of information about diet pills this morning on the radio. These pills that pump chemicals into your body on average only help you lose about 3% more than diet and exercise alone. 3% of 100 is 3 and 3% of 200 is 6. This means that by using a diet pill, if you are under 200lbs, you will only lose 3-6 pounds more on average than diet and exercise alone. I, personally, do not think that this is worth all the chemicals that you are ingesting. (I edited this post to point out that the statistic is for a year. 3-6 pounds a year.)

If you really want to drop some fast weight or kick-start your weight loss, do a colon cleanse or something like that. If you are dead set on a "quick-fix" then go to the manufacturer's website and look at what they put in these pills. Are they FDA approved? Are they approved in Europe? These are questions you need to ask, because some of the chemicals in diet pills can have pretty horrible affects, especially if they employ any sort of steroid.

Plus, my husband tried the whole hydroxycut system years ago and it made no difference at all compared to the healthful eating and regular exercise that he was doing before.

Good luck and make sure you don't take anything you don't fully understand. If you damage your body with a chemical, there will be serious repercussions as you age. Stay informed!

You had a great point... I just wanted to point out a few things.

A colon cleanse is not needed and any form of cleanse or detox won't result in lasting weight loss. A colon cleanse can also be dangerous.

Also, no diet pill is FDA approved... at least not those available OTC. They are classified as supplements (same as vitamins) and therefore do not need FDA review or approval. The FDA tends to only get involved when deaths or serious health problems have been reported often. Also, don't go and buy a diet pill just because it says natural or herbal. Neither mean that they will not harm you.

Seriously, diet pills are not worth the risk. I'd rather be overweight for longer but healthy than skinny quickly with heart, lung, kidney, etc issues.

I was always partial to Zantrex-3. When I starved at age 19, Zantrex 3 gave me plenty of energy to live off of just the pills and coffee. I lost 2 stone in a couple of months, no lie.

Came off it, put it all back on and more. I repeated this ( whilst eating ) at least 5 times as recently as last october. Put it all back on and more as usual. I damaged my metabolism on these bad boys and ever other diet pill I have tried out.

I'd like to mention that each time I have taken it, I have felt slightly high or completely hyper. With late night heart palpitations to boot. They are NOT good. And I don't seclude this to Zantrex. I've tried most things going, because I am a bit of a tool. Or was.

Since cutting out the pills, I still have my water weight. ( Which is majority of what diet pills get rid of and some internal fat. ) And if I were on the diet pills I used to take, I'd most likely be 7.5 stone rather than 8 right now. I would believe Im doing a HELL of a lot better than I am! lol

Because this time I'm all natural, my statistics are real, and I don't need to worry about coming off them and putting it all back on and not understanding why.

If you want a push, drink some energy drinks such as Lucozade Sport Lite, Powerade Zerio...hell, have a coffee before the gym! Caffeine is the main ingredient and most likely only one that helps in diet pills. The pills should only be used in conjunction with exercise as they are marketed to help us in the gym. Simply eat better in the morning and drink plenty of water.

Naturally your energy levels should rise as mine have. I've not had to nap in 2 weeks and I can't believe it! lol

Somebody tell me I've just made my first sensible post? ..
