I made the MASSIVE mistake of going to youtube (after reading a Buzzfeed article that mentions it) to watch the scene from Fresh Prince where Will gets stood up by his dad and he says to Uncle Phil, "how come he don't want me, man?" and oh my god.

    I definitely didn't almost cry.

    I give up.

    Never give up.

    Sometimes you have to

While I would agree in general concept. Iview it differently.

To me, giving up is akin to failure. It is an act of desperation or frustration, and emotionally charged. I view it the same as quitting, which is a negative act.

But, if one knows that contuing on a certain path, actions, or consumption of something isn't healthy and will result in detrimental results of health, finances, loss of life, etc. That is not quitting or giving up. It is a conscious decision to stop, in an effort to minimize losses.

Think of it this way:. I didn't quit smoking. I made a decision to stop smoking to improve my health, save money and prevent major health issues. Same with changing my food intake. I didn't "give up" eating unhealthy foods. I decided to make a change in the foods I was eating for better health.

Sometims, we need to accept that we need to cut ties with people because of the problems they cause in our lives. Or, sometimes, we need to take a step back and reevaluate a situation we find ourselves in, so we may make better choices or corrective actions.

    Wow; that's positive.

    ... I just usually quit.

    *shrug

Reasons I loathe going to the beach picnics after being active on MFP.... Seeing overweight and obese children with candy, sodas, snow cones etc ... They're constantly eating. Can barely walk. Aren't playing. Just bee-lining to food. Doubt their bodies needed that much energy.

Granted, there are many healthy children too. It's just sad.

I feel as though I may honestly be a terrible person.

You should list out all of your indiscretions to us and let us decide

I despise doing self-reviews. That would be suicide for me...
