    Because they cant handel the truth. . . Or Becuase they dont want to offend someone. . . Or becuase it makes them feel better about themselves. There's a few reasons that comes to my mind.

    Because they can be anyone they want to be when they're on-line. They can be attractive, wealthy, successful, etc. Too bad a lot of them end up hurting people along the way.

    Insecurity with themselves. Anytime people present than themselves as something other than themselves it is due to an insecurity or unhappiness with who they are.

    1) steal money
    2) be someone else because they think they suck
    3) escape an abusive home life
    4) self esteem
    5) hide celebrity status
    6) get you in bed
