Does squats actually make your bum bigger?

A surplus and glute dominant exercises. Wide stance squats, glute bridges with a barbell, and sumo deadlifts are all favourites of mine.1

Surplus builds muscle. Squats will build your legs and glutes. If you want to specifically target the glutes, I'd suggest hip thrusts.1

great question. i don't know the right answer. however i did find on fitnessblender (look on google or youtube) a workout program specifically for the butt. and if you want to know the results, somewhere on fitnessblender there is a photo of before and after of the girl doing the exercises. she has a very nice round bum after!

mini theraband walks are a good beginning for actually activating your glutes to make sure you get the benefit of whatever you do. i'm also a big adherent of hip circles to make sure you're warmed up as well. it doesn't take much to turn my glutes off so these preliminaries have made a difference.1
