Burpees are a punishment exercise it's true. Doing them on skates is the worst.
I thought you were joking - Good lord no...

We use them as incentive do get your skills down right. Most people would rather perform in a drill than do punishment burpees

All kidding aside I think I'll get more benefit out of doing long term burpees than any other similar exercise. I admit I don't like them at the moment, but that's only because of my current fitness level to be brutally honest. Six months from now (hopefully) an awful lot will be changed with that. :)

I started my personal burpee challenge today and immediately thought of this thread. Horrible, just horrible. I wanted to do 20 a day the first week, and after 5 I was disgusted. Bad form, and felt like no endurance.

Bah - I hate these things, I'll do them though...

Thanks, I'm sure it will get better. I just thought I was in better shape than that lol.

The upside is no one else was awake to see the travesty.....

Someone dared me a year ago to do my Birthday Burpees (48) every day for a month. I recorded my weight and my time each day. After 28 days I did them 60% faster on day 28 than day 1 (day 1 over 10 mins, day 28 just over 4 minutes), and I TRIPLED my weight loss that month than i normally did. Coincidence?

I can't say whether the tripled weight loss is a coincidence or not since I'm not sure what kind of calorie deficit you were in...BUT, I can say you were exactly right about ONLY thing that makes burpees worth it...if you do them consistently, you're progress is noticeable at almost every session. And who doesn't love progress??
