I have struggled with my weight since early childhood.
I will be turning 30 next summer (end of June), and my goal was to be in the best possible shape by the time I turned 30 because, well, my 20s sucked. I'm proud to say that I've gotten there, about 6 months earlier than planned.
I didn't think it was going to be possible for me to get under 150lbs, so I had originally set my goal at 150. I weighed in this morning at 146.4, and have decided I'd like to cut another 15 lbs or so, then re-evaluate what my next step will be.
I lost, but I gained so much more. I gained appreciation for my body. I gained appreciation for fitness. I gained my life back.
All of this was achieved with little cardio, heavy weights, and following IIFYM.
I don't restrict myself to 1200 calories a day, so I don't starve. I eat pizza. I eat red meat. I drink wine. Life is good.
5'5"
228lbs down to 146.4lbs
Size 16/18 down to a size 6
BMI 37.9 to 24.4
Now onto the best part...... the pictures of my transformation.
Porky, unhealthy and miserable.
Partway through my journey.
Early on this past summer I ran my first ever 5km race. I sucked. But I finished.
At the end of the summer, I completed an adventure course.
Halloween comparison
Something miraculous happened last weekend. I tried on size 8 pants, and they were huge. I bought my first ever pair of size 6 pants.
This morning's weigh in
And last but not least, my advice to all you ladies........... for the love of all things, LIFT. It does the body good.
Thanks for reading my story! I hope this can be an inspiration to some of you!
