This week's challenges: so frustrating. I am at a 1000 cal deficit per day, my logging is pretty good, and not losing nuffin. Slowly losing fat and increasing lean mass.
On another note, a 1000 calorie deficit with all that exercise- your body hasn't gone into starvation mode has it?
I must agree with Toxtethogrady, I'm wondering if you're getting enough calories if you have a 1,000/day deficit. At 265, to lose 1#/week they have me at 1710. There's no way I could eat only 710 and receive all the nutrition I need. I have a MFP friend, not in this challenge, who was on 1200/day due to surgery recommendations. (She's 4+ years past surgery date). She wasn't losing, dropped her intake to 1100, still not losing. I punched in her weight and 1#/week goal and MFP recommended about 1500. After just 2 weeks of this, she's lost about 4#. If you restrict calories too much, 1) you're body goes into starvation mode and hoards calories for energy/bodily functions; and 2) you won't have any future reductions left. (I'm assuming as we lose weight, our calorie goal goes down...I don't know, not there yet). I'm by no means a dietician, this is just from personal experience over a life time of weight issues. Losing weight is a frustrating process. Isn't at all as fun as gaining was! Best of Luck, glad you're still working the program.7 -
Starting weight on January 11th: 289
Current weight: 260.4
This week's loss: 0
Total weight loss: 29.3 lbs
This week's successes: Did not lose anything, but had a large splurge early in the week - a getaway in wine country with a gastronomic restaurant. It was the Christmas gift my husband and I gave each other. While I am not up, it clearly put a temporary halt to the downward trend of the previous six weeks. Back home, I returned immediately to my new dietary regime, so hope to see progress this coming week.
This week's challenges: To up my steps and add in some additional exercise at least three days per week.9 -
Starting weight: 371?
Current weight: 380
Goal Weight: 319
This week's loss: 0
Total weight loss: 0
This week's successes: I haven't had success since starting this challenge because I have been overwhelmed with life and didn't stick with the necessary changes. So, I gained 9 pounds and lost a lot of confidence.
This week's challenges: Starting fresh and finding something that works! I am my own worst enemy. I have a gym membership and no time to go. I know how to cook but no time to do it properly. Excuses! This week I learn to get past the excuses and make something happen!

This week’s challenges: Birthday party dinner at restaurant and bridal shower luncheon this weekend. Will choose menu prior to dinner out, but luncheon will be more difficult.
This week’s goals: Stay within 200 of calorie goal; move more.

This week's challenges: Leaving today to travel to my daughter's wedding on Saturday. Wifi will be spotty, but I will do my best to log in and log my food daily if possible. Won't be hitting the gym, but will make the most of the environment I'm in (Mountains of Montana) to get out and walk in the great outdoors!13 -
Hands down, my favorite part about participating in this group is everyone's stories! It's fantastic and amazing to read everyone's failures and successes. It really brings me back down to earth and reminds me I'm not alone, living among perfect people living perfect lives. We're all human, and if we're paying attention, our failures are just as important as our success! Rock on everyone! Perfection is in the pursuit, never the destination!11

I'm finally taking a moment to post. I have been busy at work and at home. I'm finally getting to use up my vacation so I'll be doing every Friday off until the end of the fiscal year. I didn't make my February goal of losing 5 pounds but I did lose about 4.5.
Weekly Weigh-in
Starting weight:182.6
Goal weight:140
Last Tuesday that I logged weight:173.6
Current weight: 170.5
Total weight lost: 12.1
Successes: My gym buddy and I won the weight loss challenge at our gym. That was cool. I was able to go a week without eating out. I hosted two parties and ate fairly well. I didn't taste any of the dips that I provided to everyone else
Challenges: Keep on keeping on.
March goal: 64 oz of water a day and lose 5 pounds this month, weight-165.5.8 -
Starting weight: 226.4 lbs
Goal weight: 155 lbs
Current weight: 207.2 lbs
Total Weight Loss so far: 19.2 lbs
This week's successes: I got another compliment on how good I am looking from another colleague at work.
This week's challenges: I didn't go for a walk on Wednesday night and it really messed up my routine. I was over on my calories, and I was craving lots of high calorie foods (think chips and chocolate). It just shows how important my exercise is, as it helps keep my cravings for not so healthy foods under control. Or maybe it just keeps my mind busy and I'm too exhausted after

This week's success: Learning more about myself and my calorie needs. Addressing those needs proactively, increasing exercise with a new tracker, feeling really good about this process this week, reaching out and finding a few new friends for this journey.
This week's challenge: I am traveling (just me without the family) for the next 3 days to see my mother and other relatives. It is a 5 hour car ride and then a lot of travel when I get there. I am newly dairy, gluten, and soy free and although I have learned how to cook at home (and feel great about it), my family has no clue how to feed me. So this means bringing all my own food. This is going to help me stay on target, but also means if I forget something I might be hungry and not have everything I am used to at home. I really am going to have to plan!!! I also need to not stress eat. I am with my mother, (could go good or bad) and without my kids (should be a great thing, we all need a break, but I will worry about them and their father the whole time I am gone, my little one is already whiny and I know that is sure to get worse while I am gone. It drives his father insane and only creates more problems.) I also am leaving my elliptical machine, and it has become my best friend. At my mom's house they are not sure what a veggie is, and there is no equipment unless you call the reach for the remote an exercise. So I am going to have to move with purpose. Hopefully I can pull this off and have a great week!
Good luck with your weight-loss travels this week!10 -
Happy Fabulous Friday my 52/52 friends!
What a great journey we're on together.
Next week is our 9 week weigh in already
I'm back to moving in the right direction again and have lost a total of 8.4 pounds... so I am pretty proud of myself. How are you doing?
Remember, it's never too late to start or restart this slow and steady road trip. Jump on my friends!10 -

@EternalTruth Thanks for the kind words. You are where I plan to get to with this challenge ONEDERLAND. Congratulations!
When I began at 376# in 2013 I was happy to lose first 100# in 2015. 2016 I joined a WW 52/52 challenge and lost -37#. Arthroscopic knee surgery last Sept slowed my progress.
I never thought I could reach 199 but ALL THINGS are possible with hard work, determination, a good plan and support groups and supportive friends I've met on line. Seeing my scale below 220s is very encouraging.
Hope to use fireworks for my celebration on or around the Fourth of July!9 -
Back in the loss column this week! Good week of staying under my calorie count and logging in exactly what I ate. And guess what???? – It worked. I’m still recovering from shoulder surgery so my usual exercise is lacking. On 13 Mar I will be cleared to resume guarded but more active use of my arm. Then I will be able to include exercise to my arsenal of good diet and monitoring tools MFP has provided me.
I’m back below the milestone of 180 pounds and plan to stay there. With about ten more days with my arm in a sling I can see the light at the end of the tunnel as far as my shoulder recovery goes. Hope you all have a good week 10.

Been a bit since I posted... Feb 23rd was my last, so not so good for keeping up to date weekly, but I've lost another 5 lb since, so I'm happy with that. So far, ahead of schedule!
Starting weight: 231.4
Goal weight: 170
Current weight: 215.9
Total weight lost: 15.5
This week's successes: Down two pounds. Did not give in to daytime craving.
This week's challenges: Decided to step out of comfort zone and attended a fitness class. I hated it, but it was a change-up. I prefer lifting. Not big on aerobics. Not a fan of group settings, so even signing up was a challenge. I'm glad I did it despite not particularly liking it.9 -
@stormywxs288 Maybe all those bowling balls messed up your shoulder? LoL j/k
I've had shoulder and minor knee surgery, it slowed me down but never stopped me. Hope you are fully recovered soon!4 -

There is no doubt that carrying around about two bowling balls of extra weight contributed to my knee replacement and other health issues. My goal is to lose 3 whole bowling balls while I'm on this 52 week challenge.5 -
