When an MFP friend messes up, do you keep them company?

Thanks for all the responses, everybody.
At the people who wondered if I was trying to feed my soul or indulge because of an MFP friend, don't worry, I'm not trying to do those things. LOL I eat junk within my calories when I can get access to it. But these threads are fun and interesting.2 -

I don't consider it trolling, just curiosity about what others think.0 -
I don't read my friends diaries. What they eat is their business. I have my diary open to friends, they can see every bad day I have.0

So you pose ridiculous hypotheticals, masquerading as genuine questions, to entertain yourself? I mean it's one thing to start genuine debate, and another to post no-brainers just to see everyone respond with how ridiculous it is.13 -

But if you know the correct answer, then the question is pointless for you.4 -
Maybe you should post in the Chit Chat forum10

Have you ever learned that an MFP friend had overindulged in the cupcakes and donuts and was feeling bad, so decided to munch to keep them company? Or have you ever figured that since they ate something, you deserved or might as well have some too? Why or why not?
No. I don't look at my friend's diaries. I don't base my eating on what other people online are eating.
I also know one high day does not mean someone messed up. If they were feeling bad that is what I would tell them. Log and move on.0 -
God no. If I want to eat a donut or something I will do now and then. But I certainly don't feel I "deserve" one just because someone else has had one. Seems a ridiculous reason to indulge to me.0

If your friend messes up and injects meth, do you so it so they won't feel as bad about messing up?
Edited for typo.3 -

I've heard meth is great for weight loss.

I've had days where my husband has complained about overindulging, so I've joined him. I don't do it to make him feel better (even though it does), it's just a lame excuse for me to eat more!1

It'd just speed me up and make me eat faster.3 -
No, I don't judge my friends on what they eat. I ate an entire small BBQ chicken pizza followed by a pint of Halo Top on my own the other day even though I'm in maintenance. However, I have deleted friends who complain about the same thing over and over without doing anything about it. I had one friend who would log on, eat 800 to 900 calories every day for a week or two, disappear for a month, then come back saying they gained some weight and wanted to lose it again. They'd log things like sex and food prep for extra calories to eat, complain they couldn't lose weight, go back to the 800 to 900 calorie days. Rinse. Repeat. They would ask for help and ignore all advice. It took around five times and the span of almost a year until I had enough and deleted them. Cases like that are rare though.1

No...because why would something that some random person on the internetz did influence what I do? That doesn't even make sense. I don't even let my actual "real" personal friends influence what I do...1 -
