Vinger and water diet

Make sure your probiotic is designed to survive your stomach acid so it can get to the small intestine where the bacteria is useful

I agree and every GI specialist my wife sees would agree. And she has seen a lot over that past few years.
I had "gut" issues and tried everything under the sun INCLUDING probiotics. Never worked. Didnt even make a dent. Found apple cider vinegar cure online and tried that. Two days later I was cured. After two years of issues, I finally had none. And it lasts for months at a time. Which is good cause OMG that is NASTY!! It said to do it every day. I got three days in and QUIT. However, if the issues start to come back, I choke down a tbs of it again and im back to being cured. So either it works and doctors dont want to admit that it does (cant make money off the healthy).. OR.. My gut is trembling in a corner in terror at the idea I will abuse it again with that vile stuff. For weight loss, that is just a ridiculous idea unless bulimia is the persons goal! Then yeah.. id say a person can lose weight vomiting up everything they just ate. But we cant cure stupid!5 -

Where are all these vinegar ideas coming from??
i think people just want a trick to losing weight sometimes ,, hate to say it but theres no trick CI verses CO is what i do
good luck6 -

Ick. I'm not trying to sound mean, but how would that cause you to lose weight? What's the actual mechanism?1

I don't have an opinion one way or the other ACV, except to say it tastes awful. BUT - to anyone considering taking it but please be careful.
ACV is very acidic and if you take it straight, even if you follow with a glass of water, you could still wind up with long-term mouth and throat damage. Just dilute it in that glass of water. Then drink more water, because it also can damage your tooth enamel over time.1 -

There are several members who have reported that it has helped with upset stomachs and acid reflux. Others it has done the opposite and caused issues. Hell, when my stomach is upset, i drink coke.
Like i said, if it works then great but i wouldnt suggest that it alters gut bacteria until the science can confirm such a thing. Heck, with my wifes conditions there is a lot of anecdotal evidence that there are reactions to gluten and lactose but they havent developed techiques nor methods to test gluten sensitivities current. So anecdotes is all we have current and personal testing.3 -

I do not support the drinking of vinegar but apple cider vinegar is in itself a 'fermented food' so I don't really understand this counter argument.

The only thing I can think of is that it makes you feel too sick to eat?4 -
Just have vinegar on a salad if you want to add it into your diet. Use probiotics to improve gut bacteria.0

When I was a kid I briefly had a baby sitter who would mix a concoction with honey & acv when I had an upset stomach or wouldn't eat my lima beans. But she was an old wife.0

Mine wasn't acid reflux. Think sitting down issues at least 5 times a day. IBS?

Could be a variety of things. I was just using acid reflux as one example.2 -

Similar issues as me (but I have Crohn's). My GI doesn't even believe in probiotics for inflammatory bowel disease and I personally have found nothing that works in a flare (other than meds that would do nothing for IBS) and when I'm mostly stable the biggest thing I find is strict food restrictions but sometimes with Crohn's even water is a trigger food. Have you tried low fodmaps?0 -
People are too quick to judge.. I drink it because, like others, I find it to be beneficial. And it does not have to be gross.
What I do is take a large glass of water (cold or room temp), place it in my blender, and I add my dose of ACV (I do 30ml), cinnamon and a bit of stevia. It tastes like apple pie1 -
Christine_72 wrote: »The acv concoction is probably THE worst and most useless thing i have tried over the last few years. It tastes utterly revolting!!
If you want to improve your gut bacteria, a simple probiotic capsule daily will do the job. Doing this is less traumatising and more effective than chugging down vinegar.
Naw, you haven't had revolting until you add powdered vitamin C to it! The blackstrap molasses helps somewhat, but it's still dreadful.
(I'm not taking it for weight loss. Have been taking it for about a month and it's had no effect on my weight.)1 -

I clean daily using vinegar. How can someone actually force that stuff down?3 -

It's great for descaling the kettle2 -

I will just buy the apple pie instead.7 -
Had anyone tried this I do a cup of warm water and 2 tablespoons of vinger I even tried putting honey into it . I don't think it's working and it's so gross
It's just good for your kidney, flushes them. Apart from that, wouldn't say it has any benefits thus you don't really need to do it unless you're taking supplementation like protein and creatine.0 -

Water flushes your kidneys. Vinegar has nothing to do with "flushing" your kidneys.8 -

Exactly. I love how one of the famous arguments against cola is that it can eat the rust off of stuff, but ACV is health food9 -

because there is a difference in taste between apple cider vinegar and white vinegar.....However I am assuming you use white vinegar to clean with1 -

Gonna keep that reference up my sleeve for the next time someone tells me my diet coke is unhealthy.1 -
I don't take that daily or as some kind of weight loss supplement, but when I have heartburn I mix a tablespoon or two of organic ACV and some water and take that to help. It works better than antacids.0
