Hello I'm Kellie 47 years old 163 lbs a year ago I weighed 145 .. in 2004 I was 205 lbs and put myself on low fat low cal eat every 3 to 4 hours no matter what and went all the way down to 130 pounds.. I baked boiled broiled and ate all the right foods... I kept it off effortlessly until I quit smoking cigarettes in 2009.. since then I have been battling my weight but winning until 2016 now I can't seem to do it.. so I started low carb less than 20 carbs a day and staying between 1300-1500 calories.. I've been at this a week and would love to get advise and support and share success and fails even meal ideas..

Is there a medical reason for low carb? The reason I ask is, I've done the yo-yo thing myself. So instead of diets I now look for things I can change forever....more veggies, fewer snacks, moving more. Most of all portion control for everything.

That said, there is tons on information in specific groups (not so much in the general forums):

never, ever stress about eating the wrong foods or breaking your carb limit - stay within your caloric goal with habits that are comfortable/sustainable for you, with a good level of fundamental nutrition, the rest is window dressing.

If you eat 7 chocolate bars this week, but your calories are good, your nutrients are good, and your meal frequency and food choices feel good with your body, you've done great, and couldn't do much better. Don't sweat the minor details.

    Good luck!
