Hi folks, a friendly reminder to please ensure posts comply with our community guidelines. The guideline in question reads:
1. No Attacks or Insults and No Reciprocation
a) Do not attack, mock, or otherwise insult others. You can respectfully disagree with the message or topic, but you cannot attack the messenger. This includes attacks against the user’s spelling or command of written English, or belittling a user for posting a duplicate topic.
b) If you are attacked by another user, and you reciprocate, you will also be subject to the same consequences. Defending yourself or a friend is not an excuse! Do not take matters into your own hands – instead, use the Report Post link to report an attack and we will be happy to handle the situation for you.
Thanks,
Sugar

Her trouble is that eating makes her dizzy if she eats very much. Not sure if you read trough the thread but she did take the bus to the ER then fainted on the bus, an ambulance then took her to the ER. So hopefully she will know what is behind it and how to handle it soon.0 -

Clearly you are more jaded about things than I am. I find a 19 year old posting an update from ER normal enough. If it was a 30, 40, 50 year old, I would find it really weird.2 -

Hey guys. I was diasgnosed with Postprandial Hypotension. The doctor said I'm not doing anything wrong and different eating patterns wouldn't really make it better or worse. I'm being put in blood pressure medication.
Not sure what was said that was removed, though I'm interested to know what it was. But thanks for sticking up for me. ❤️
I have some sutures in my head from hitting it when I fainted but other then that I'm feeling fine now.
Much love31 -
I'm happy you have answers OP. And I'm very grateful that you just have some stitches and not something worse. Get better and keep us updated on your progress with the medication2

So glad you made it to Emerg - even if it was by ambulance. Your injuries could easily have been so much worse.
Keep us posted!

SO glad you found out the problem! A lady posted further up the thread about this very issue with which you have been diagnosed. I was thinking something like that had to be the problem. Try experimenting with much smaller meals more frequently, maybe add more fat to get in more calories. I hope you can find a way to work around this problem.
The comments that were removed were the product of a troll who came slithering through. Mods took care of it though.2 -
Thanks for updating! So glad you're getting the medical attention you need Hope the meds make you better xxx1

As a person with epilepsy I second this suggestion! Also, don't have baths until you've got it sorted unless you have someone sit with you. Likewise swimming and driving, and come to think of it, hiking into the middle of nowhere on your own in a country 28 hours flight away from home! #personalexperience8 -

I'm glad you found out what was going on but I just want to note if it helps any that it's actually recommended to people with your condition to eat frequent small low carb meals.2 -

If you continue to eat under 1000 calories your hair will start to fall out in about three months, eat nuts and I'm pleased you got a diagnosis1

So gad that you have a diagnosis and can now work toward getting back to "normal".
Please keep us updated...we care.1 -
Today I've been trying some different things! I'm trying to eat lower in carbohydrates and higher in protein and fat. see if it helps. So far, no difference. ❤️4

It may take some time to get it figured out. I wonder if there is a support group somewhere that you can pick people's brains for some ways to help you get some food in. How often do you snack? You may need to just eat very small amounts every couple of hours.1

Higher protein/fat may not eliminate dizziness from your condition but at least you are packing in more calories with every bite.3

Also, do you have a blood pressure monitor at home? If not buy one. They make an automatic type which is nice. You just put the cuff around your arm and hit a button and sit still. It then gives your blood pressure and heart rate. This could help you check your blood pressure in relation to different amounts of food and therefore help you better discover what amount of food or even which specific foods seem to agree with you best.
Calibration of these cuffs is usually done at no cost to the customer. Usually you just call the customer service number and ask if they will send a shipping label so you can mail it in for calibrating. I have one by Life Fitness. There are many other brands. This one cost around 100 bucks.2
