    My Grandma never took her own plate. "I eat like a bird", said Grandma. Meanwhile, she ate everything on my Grandpa's plate so he had to get seconds.

    The exact opposite when I was a kid. I was always eating off my mom's plate and she would pretend to be exasperated and say I was like a baby bird.

    Eat off a toddler size plate that has sections. Smaller plate smaller portions.
