What do you mean no success? What was your 1RM when you started? How many weeks did you follow it? What was your 1RM at the end of it?

So it did work. You gained 80 kgs on your max. Start 5x5 over again using your new 1RM as the starting calculation.

To increase that those sort of weights will be slow. If you are expecting to speed through it like getting up where you are now, it probably won't happen. As stated, from what you say 5x5 worked, or do you mean it was not working as fast as you would like it to?

Since your goal is to improve your 1rm, why dont you look into a powerlifting program, something more advanced than SL5x5. Powerlifting is all about that 1rm and the programs are more intense and will take you to that next level. I train the conjugate method and have been very happy with it for many years.
